OK to remove thermostat? by J
Will it harm anything if I remove the therrmostat for the duration of the summer? My goal is to make the engine run cooler to extend the engine life. This is in reference to a 1994 Chevrolet Corsica with a 6 cylinder engine with 168,000 miles. The gasket is an o-ring that is part of the...

Autos 2006 Scion Xa MPG by watertree
I have an 06' Scion Xa with 20,000 miles. Up until about 15,000 miles over 16 months I was getting 34-44 mpg. Typically around 38+ mixed 30% city and 70% highway. I didn't change anything and started getting 28mpg. I took it in for the 15000 mi service and they said they couldn't find anything...

2002 Ford Taurus Transaxle by Joe[_101_]
When my 2002 Ford Taurus is parked up a slight incline, it leaks a lot of transmission fluid. It appears to be leaking from the gasket at the rear of the transaxle, but it may be leaking from somewhere above the gasket. Assuming the gasket was the easiest thing to replace, I decided to...

1995 Park Avenue --- burned computer(?) under driver's seat by Matt[_15_]
I recently got a used 1995 Park Avenue Ultra seemingly in decent general condition. The driver's power seat controls don't work, but the front passenger seat works fine. The side-view mirror controls don't work. The driver's seat heater and the driver's recliner control also don't work, but...

A floor jack's STEEL WHEELS by Built_Well
Steel wheels aren't as robust as one might suppose. The 3.5-ton Michelin floor jack's steel wheels laid down a thin layer of a white, chalk-like substance which I can only suppose was ground steel extracted from the wheels by the heavy weight of the car as the jack rolled forward on the concrete...

URGENT ! by Dominik Aufgeschnitten

Air bag failure to deploy by mark
On june 21 my brother inlaw was killed in a head on collision in a 95 ford f-150 and the air bag did not deploy. He was the driver and lone occupant. I looked at the truck and can actually see the airbag still folded up inside the steering wheel. The vehicle was never in a previous accident and was...

Turn Signal problems by Big Bubba
I have a 94 Buick Skylark. The turn signals don't work. I have tested the fuse and it is fine. I even switched the fuse with another fuse to be sure. The emergency lights all work, which tells me it isn't a bulb failure. Any other ideas? TIA.
