radiator coolant 1997 xlt by fogdog
I checked the radiator coolant today and there was none in there so I figured that was not good. I went to Pep Boys and got some engine coolant (liquid is green in color) and added it to the resevoir. Is there a ratio of water to coolant that I need?

94 XLT cruise control vs trailer brake actuator by Craig
I hooked up a new trailer brake actuator that required tapping into the cold side of the brake light wiring at the brake pedal switch. It also required a good ground, which I didn't have the first time I tested the actuator. The ground I chose was at the dash, and was not sufficient. The actuator...

Torque Converter clutch won't stay locked up by Craig
94 XLT with the 4ALD automatic with 185K, but completely rebuilt tranny about 10K ago. Lately strange things with torque converter lockup. It usually works normally, with lockup right at 45 mph, and in and out like it should depending on load. If I stay under 55 or so, it is fine all day. If I get...

Someone mentioned to me today that there is a recall for the transmission on my 03 mountaineer. I have not been notified by Ford but was wondering if I missed it. Something to do with the filter. Thanks Tom

1998 Explorer - Right front headlight out, changed bulb, didn't help. by [email protected]
My right front headlight is out, I bought a new bulb and put it in, but nothing changed. The highbeam works, but not low beam. Any help or things to try would be appreciated.

I just installed a Bazooka EL8A 8" amplified sub in my 1996 Ford Explorer. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best location for it? Now I have it just behind the rear seat facing back towards the rear hatch due to wire length restrictions, but I'm willing to extend the wires if there is...

I'm trying to replace my 96 Ford Explorer V8 radiator. It has air conditioning. The condenser for the air conditioning is attached to the radiator by clips. I can't get the condenser off of the radiator. The clips on the driver's side seem to be the difficulty. Any tips or tricks to pull the...

98 Explorer Sport 4wd: Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo recommended? by Jim Warman
Hmmmm, those Bridgestones on my Ex seem to be doing well. I sure don't know what the original poster meant by "incompatable". Many problems can be solved by simply walking around our cars and looking...... If each and every one of us were judged by our last mistake, we wouldn't even be able to...

Anyone running a Borla Exhaust on their SOHC V6? by Joe
I have the chance to purchase a discounted Borla cat back exhaust for my 97 SOHC V6. Anyone have one, does it sound like a honda civic? That's my only doubt about upgrading my exhaust... ( I wouldn't think twice if I had the 302) If it will ultimately sound like a import I would rather have no...

Tach problem 2000 Merc Mty AWD by MACE
OE Tach on 2000 Merc MTY 5.0 acting erratic. Jumps around while driving, drops to 100-200 RPM at idle, but actual RPM's not noticibly lower. Kind of seems like its almost twitching, and fading away so to speak. Is there a sensor involved that I can check, or am I going to have to dismantle my dash?...

fog light install by Chris Nagle
I have a 99 Explorer XL 4dr 4x4. It did not come with fog lamps. Will the fog lamp harnesses be installed from the factory and just leave out the lamps (and mounting h/w) or would they have left them off?

99 Explorer Limited-Warm Start Problem by bobbyII
99 Explorer starts quikly when cold or let set for a few hours. When trying to start back up say wuthin 30 minutes, you have to turn the key on and off, then start the engine. I know this sounds like a fuel pump only if the reverse was happening, such as trying to start a cold engine. Any...
