compression test by
danielr
I ride a 1997 SL SOHC, 185.000 Km, standard transmission.
Oil is changed every 3500 Km, I use Castrol Synthetic 5W30, and K&N
oil filter.
I know; some of you might believe it is a waste of money; but I am a
FIRM believer of preventive maintenance.
I am VERY satisfied with this car.
Question:
Which...

01 LW300 heater by
Oppie
Now that the weather has turned warm, I am noticing that even with the
heater control full counterclockwise, the air temperature from the duct is
still hotter than the outside air.
Any ideas on why this is? Not sure if it is in the internals or just air
heated by going over the hot hood and into...

Idle control Valve? by
danielr
Before I start describing the problem, I’ll beg for your patience:
1997 SL SOHC, 186600 Km, standard transmission; in Toronto (Canada)
weather; and I love this car.
Last December, engine was having high idling speed (1550 to 2000 rpm)
when stopping at traffic lights, slowly coming down to its...

Noisey VUE by
Scout
My 2003 VUE has at least 2 noise problems.
1. The whole car creak and moans like a 40 year old truck.
2. When the steering wheel is turned, it sounds like plastic noises but I
can't pinpoint them. I reached way down under the dashboard and found some
kind of metal part (inside the car) and it seems...

97 SC2 - A/C not working by
Matthew Fries
It was a nice warm day today, so I thought I would turn on the A/C in
my 97 SC2. The A/C light on the control panel came on (and so did the
recirc light), I turned the fan on, but all that I got was hot air. It
wasn't even a little bit cooler.
A couple of years ago, I had the A/C recharged, and it...

Hi
Car: 94 SC2 Aprrox 160K miles. Auto. All original.

Lately, if you shut it off and come back between 15 min and an hour
later and go to start it the following happens:
An initial cough from the engine, and then it just cranks like it is
getting no gas. If you...

lw300 rear strut by
Oppie[_7_]
Replaced the rear struts on the '01 lw300 this weekend. One shock was
leaking oil and completely dead. Got the new parts through Autozone and got
the strut mount kits in addition to the struts. Good thing as in order to
remove the old strut from the bracket, some flame wrenching was needed and...

Crappy undersized wire in overpriced Saturn block heater by
private
My pet peeve is the crappy undersized wire that Saturn uses on the genuine??
Saturn brand block heater for the S series. The idiot junior engineer that
spec'd the wire obviously had no experience with winter. They must have
saved a fraction of a penny on the material cost which they then wasted...

97 Saturn hesitates when accelerating by
rodod
I have a 97 SL1 Manual Transmission Saturn that would hesitate when I
accelerated.
I changed the fuel filter...then I changed the fuel pump.
It works 80% better but I still get a little hesitation when I give it the
gas.
Almost like it bogs down initially and then quickly comes out of it. Plus
it...

Noisy front wheel bearing - Saturn Relay by
crkeehn
I have a 2005 Saturn Relay 3 with a noisy front left wheel bearing. I have
been told various stories about having it corrected.
Can anyone please tell me what is involved in correcting the problem and
about how much it should cost?
Thanks

Turn Left and Blower Turns ON!!! by
carnovice
I'm experiencing problems with the blower on my 2000 Saturn SL100. It
has been acting up and mysteriously kicks on when I turn left - then
when I straighten out the wheel it stops again.
This only works then the car is in motion. Turning the wheel while in
park does not work. Can anyone tell me...

Ion, 15K, Needs A Boost by

check the oil, maybe use synthetic and a good filter. I use Mobil synthetic
and filter (don't yell at me I'm just telling you what I use).
I would also switch to a synthetic in the manual transmission.
good luck

If Saturn goes, I will NEVER buy another GM car by
Usenet User
I expect GM to survive in one form or another. But if GM drops or stops
the Saturn brand, I am done with GM cars and so is the rest of the
family. We have been loyal Saturn car owners and have found them
superior and different than other GM cars. We have owned six Saturn
vehicles over the years...

Fuel guage failure on 2003 Vue? by
Jim E.
Hi,
I filled up my Vue a few days ago. Guage went to full. As I drove for the
next 1/2 hr it plummeted to a 1/4 tank like I was leaking fuel. ( i wasn't).
Now it just hangs around empty, if I fill up it might go to almost 1/2 tank
reading. The car runs fine so it knows it has fuel. Any ideas on...

GMS & Saturns DRLs by
teem
On GMs the headlights are on full time,on Saturns,it's the park
lights. Is this how it ended up?.In my opinion,if you have to see
lights on in daytime, you shouldn't be driving, plus the battery has
enough to do.
