automotive relays with built-in LED? (wish list) by
[email protected]
In most cars, you have relays, probably in a bunch for things like fans,
headlights, ABS, power windows, fuel pump et cetera.
Now those relays are in opaque cubes. You can't see if the contacts have
moved. I would love to see a relay with a LED built in to show when the
coil is energized. Would...

Gasoline cans, Blitz, out of business, where to get cap? by
Ablang[_2_]
A bunch of my Blitz 5-gallon portable gas containers have the lousy spout
broken (cracked around the center so that they now leak).
The company appears to be out of business, even though the gas cans are
only a couple of years old.
The gas cans are fine. Just the spouts are broken. I never use...

Did Buick make a 3.1L V6 for 2002 LeSabre? by
[email protected]
Good morning, We're searching for a first car for my daughter and stumbled on a 2002 LeSabre Ltd. with 50k miles. Surprisingly, for a teenager, she likes it, so I've looked for reviews, recalls, etc., and can only find them for a 3.8L for the LeSabre. Have I missed something? Might the seller...

The cellphone paradox - where are all the accidents? by

The cellphone paradox - where are all the accidents?
The Fermi Paradox is essentially a situation where we "assume" something
that "seems obvious"; but, if that assumption is true, then something else
"should" be happening. But it's not.
Hence, the paradox.
Same thing with the cellphone...

[Q] Roof A/C by
[email protected]
Did anyone try installing a roof a/c in a passenger car (that's not equipped
with an A/C OR underpowered to have stock A/C run properly)?
I see some supposedly chinese brands that I have no desire
to guinea pig through.
thanks

2006 GM Envoy suspect anti theft problem. by
[email protected]
We bought this car for my wife last October. It was fine for about 6 months and then one day my wife said that it wouldn't start. I came home later that day and tried to start it and it started right up. We subsequently took it on vacation and put all kinds of miles on it and it was fine. Then two...

Air conditioner and power drawed by
Bob
Does the a/c pump draws a constant torque? If so, that means the higher
the engine rev, the more power it uses, right?
Or does the a/c have an equivalent of a gear so that when the engine
speed is higher, it can use less torque?
My car's a/c does not have any automatic control. When it's on, I...

Repeated rear hub assembly failure? by
[email protected]
('04 Cavalier; 120K miles)
I'd been having a whining noise on (highway) left turns. I found
significant play in the right rear hub assembly, which I replaced. In
less than 200 miles, the same condition had recurred. I got another
under warranty, and installed that. Now, after ~500 miles, there...

Gasohol Mileage versus Gas Mileage...
Been doing some driving for vacation in a 2000 Chevy Malibu. I've
been averaging 28 mpg for mostly freeway. Found a gas station that
had alcohol free 91 octane so I filled up (had about 1/3 of a tank at
the time) with it. On the next leg I got 32 mpg. ...
