black sealant used on Saturn's by DannyB20
Hello, I have been struggling with a trunk leak for weeks now. I finally found out what the problem was. The black sealant they used to seal the different panels under the outer plastic fenders has gone bad. This is a 97 SC2. At first I thought it was the rear window seal.....but after re-sealing...

Black Tar on doors by marx404
Just got an '02 SC2. There is a sticky black tar like goop eminating from the inside door window frames. (if anyone ever had an old 70's ford, similar stuff to what they used around windshields). This stuff is a mess! If you touch it it is like sticky tar that sticks to everything! Does anyone...

blah blah, got my answer? by marx404
yo blah blah, you said you have resources to consult to check my post last week "sc2 tranny blues". BTW, I had the auto tranny adaptives reset again, drove the car, shifting thru the gears as suggested and it shifts smoother. Now the problem is that around 2000 RPM, it feels like I'm being...

Blaupunkt Phoenix & 2000 SL1 by Dean S. Lautermilch©²ºº³
Today I went to dealer in Fort Lauderdale for a new radio. My 2000 SL1 is about to hit 100K without any problems and I plan to keep it for a while. I wanted to get a stereo that can play MP3s and after looking at the selection, I chose a Blaupunkt Phoenix. The radio and installation were under...

Bleeding radiator by Barry Schnoor
I flushed my radiator per instructions on the can of flush. Now I get a blinking low-coolant-level light about 2 minutes after the engine starts...I'm guessing the engine's warming, the thermostat is opening and causing the light...due to an air bubble? The reservoir is full. If there *is* and...

Blinking coolant lights on '96 SW2 wagon by marcodbeast
Hi all - several times in the past two weeks, I've had 2 indicators - looks like they are probably "low coolant" and "hot" judging by the symbols - flash red at me maybe 12 times in a row after starting down the road. I can't find my manual, so I went to refill my plastic coolant tank this...

Blinking Temp & Coolant lights. 99 SL1 by reex01
The Temperture and Low coolant lights blink simaltaniously on my 1991 SL1 until the engine gets to normal operating temperture. Then they usually go off, but sometimes they will start blinking again. The coolant level is full (I just flushed the system and refilled to be sure that wasn't...

Blinking Warning Lights by Jay Margolis
My daughter called the other day with a question about her 96 SL,m She said the oil and temp warning lights seemed to be flashing a code. They would both flash at the same time and flash 5 times and the go out. It doesn't happen every time the car is driven. She checked the oil and coolant and both...

Blonde has problem with red coupe by Nick Hull
My daughter is having some problems with her "5 year old" coupe. I can't help much because my Saturn is 12 yo, is a station wagon, is white, and has a stick shift. In her own words: =========== The vehicle, a rather small coupe less than five years old, has had one previous unknown owner. The...

Body Control Module (BCM) availability by bo peep
On a 2006 Ion, I'm getting a passlock warning light when the doors are locked. The dealer says that the Body Control Module (BCM) needs to be replaced, but Saturn is "temporarily" not shipping any new BCMs for 2006 Ions. Has anyone heard anything about this, or when they will be available?

Body Parts - ION by NoSetFine
Looking for anyone with experience getting replacement parts in Canada ~cheap~ for their Saturn or other similar GM-like vehicle. I need a new headlamp assembly for my ION, courtesy of winter's last dump of slush on my Ontario highway. So far, $140 is the best I can find - luckily, that (and...

boost correction by Dave Fairfield
In an earlier post, I mentioned that the boost to my car in Calgary (which blew out one of the seatbelt computers) was done at an airport parking lot (Park and Jet) owned by Budget Rent a Car. I am infomed by Park and Jet that they are not a Budget operation. My faulty information came from the...

Boosting by Dave Fairfield
I've posted about this before. My 2002 LW had a dead battery when I arrived at the Calgary International Airport to pick it up. The lot, run by Budget Rent a Car system, provided me with a boost. The operator assured me that he knew what he was doing, even though we questioned him when he put...

Boosting burnout - LW by Dave Fairfield
Had my 2002 LW wagon boosted at the Calgary airport last weekend after I left it in the Park n Jet lot for a few days. The radar detector drained the battery, I guess. The battery was boosted by a truck equipped, they said, to do it properly. But it appears to have taken out the airbag module in...
