Hello, What a good, simple, test to determine if your car needs a front end alignment ? e.g., take your hands off the wheel and see how long it takes for the car to drift to the right or left ? Probably not a very good test; are there better ones a driver can perform ? Or,...?

Hello, Considering installing a rear Hitch on car (2015 Subaru Outback) to carry one of those Hitch mounted bike carriers. The ones that attach to a Hitch seem a better solution than the ones that attach to all of the rear trunk door with all of the straps; at least 6 it seems. Dealership...

RPM in N Or Park, When Gas Pedal Depressed Fully ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, Have a 2009 Buick LaCrosse. I have probably not looked at this recently, but when I put the gearshift into either N or P, and depress the gas pedal to the floor, the indicated RPM never goes above 3,500. Is this normal ? If not, what might it indicate ?

From OP: Interpretation ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, Thanks all for help. Much appreciated. So, my understanding from the replies is that even if it were a defective radiator cap, any coolant that the cap releases, due to its being defective, would (probably) just end up in that small plastic overflow jug ?

Cars And Metric Fasteners ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, Not a car buff, but was wondering about this: Are the screws and nuts fasteners on most cars these days metric ? Does it depend upon if they are made in U.S., or imported ? Thanks, Bob

Spare Tire Question by Bob[_53_]
Hello, Would appreciate your opinions on this, please: How "safe" is it running on the 'toy' spare tire that is pretty much standard these days for cars, to go e.g. 50 miles at no more than 45 mph (highway) ? The spare is of course of a smaller diameter, hence the concern.

Hello, Have a V6 2005 Accord with 110K on it. So, I guess will need a new Timing Belt and Plugs. Is this something that should really be done at a Dealership, or can most any "competent" garage handle it ? Must the Plugs be those Pt tipped very expensive ones ?

H or V Rating On Tires ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, A general question re the H or V speed rating on passenger "all season" tires: Everything else remaining the same,is there any difference in snow conditions, or on ice, for one rating over the other ? e.g., might the different compound in one be softer, and thus "a bit" better on snow...

Hi, Son and I are both using Nokian WR G3 tires. He has a Subaru Outback. He loves them in the snow and ice conditions, but is always complaining about the noise on a dry road. I have them too, on my 2009 Buick LaCrosse, but they seem pretty quiet to me. But my hearing isn't that great anymore.
