Kind of off topic, sort of. by
[email protected]
I am going to change the oil in my walk behind little lawn mower. Is
there some sort of dye I can add to the fresh oil that will make it easy
to see when I check the oil level with the dip stick? Of course, I could
do an old ''trick'' by drilling a little hole through the dip stick at
the proper oil...

Jeep Cherokee won't start by
Ulf
My '90 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 refuses to start. When I turn the key the
starter or solenoid makes a humming/buzzing noise, like it's trying to
turn the engine without success. However, with the headlights on they
only dim slightly, not at all as much as normal. So I got my jumper
cable and connected...

radio antenna problem by
hebintn
My 1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport just developed a problem. Overnight the
radio went from being pretty good to one that gets nothing but static.
The tape player works fine. My first thought was the antenna came
unplugged from the radio. I pulled off all the plastic crap and
pulled the radio. The...

Jumper Cables Question by
Robert11
Hi,
I just bought a new set of jumper cables, and on the box they go thru a real
detailed how-to on what to hook up first, then connect to..., etc.
I'm sure there is a good reason for the sequence, but I cannot see where it
matters, as long as you don't short anything.
Can anyone please...

checking electrical drainage by
mark
I have a 01 VW cabrio and recently the battery has become stone dead a
few times. After I recharged it I disconnected the Neg. and put a test
light inline between the post and the neg cable and the light lights
up. Would the security led and clock timer use enough juice to light
up the testlight? I...

92 Ford F150 - possible blown head gasket by
[email protected]
Once again - 1992 Ford F150 5.0L 302 V8 175k miles, auto.
A mechanic determined there's a blown head gasket.
Following behind the truck, you could see "steam"
coming out the exhaust and the truck ran roughly.
Upon disassembly of the manifold and heads, we see:
* the inside of valve covers are...

Can spark plugs that look healthy be sick? by
Simpson[_2_]
I pose this question in my ongoing quest to improve performance on my 87
Dakota without spending unnecessarily.
Actually, it's not the spending that bothers me. I just don't feel like
changing my plugs. Condemn me for a lazy good-for-nothing if you will,
but that's just the way it is...

Carburetor EGR port question by
Simpson
Does anyone have any idea how much vacuum should develop at an EGR port
on a carburetor with the engine revved to about 2000rpm?
I installed a brand spanking new Holley 2280 carburetor on my 87 Dodge
Dakota V6 engine and failed the NO part of the California smog test. The
HC and CO tests...
