Stretched Parking-Brake Cables? by
Arye
I am told that the parking-brake cables of my 1990 Miata (154,000 miles)
have now stretched beyond the ability of the manual adjusters (both at
the brake handle and at the rear calipers) to compensate for the slack.
The brake pedal works fine; the parking brake, on the other hand,
doesn't hold...

Automatic Miata by
XS11E[_3_]
These are fairly uncommon, might be of interest to someone?
http://phoenix.craigslist.org/car/538829920.html
The price isn't too bad and might be negotiable.

Why do California timing belts last longer ? by
Chief_Wiggum
I was thumbing through the manual, and it states the timing belt should be
changed at 60k, but specifies 100k for cars originally sold in California
(and a few other states, which I now forget)..
What gives ? did they ACTUALLY put better belts in some cars, or what ?

Looking for tire advice by
Jan
What's a good, fairly sticky tire in 185/60/14 size? Snow performance
is irrelevant (got a 4x4 truck for that), and rain is infrequent here.
This would be strictly for street driving (no racing), but I like to
drive fairly aggressively.
The tires I got now are some Toyo Spectrums, and I...

Automatic Miatas by
gixer
Ok I have asked already about supercharged/Turbo's Auto Miatas, but it seems
no one here has fitted any to an Auto.
So has anyone here actually got an Auto?

suggestions to revitalize this news group? by
Chris D'Agnolo[_2_]
Wow, it's a shame to see so few posts on what's been the best newsgroup I've
ever run across! Are 'we' just inundated with too many ways to communicate?
Is everyone twittering (whatever the hell that is) and facebooking and
myspacing and blogging (how did I almost forget blogging?) Who blogs for...

another JR CAI bites the dust by
pws
A friend of mine had the notorious black box on their Jackson Racing
Cold Air Induction self-destruct. I don't have all of the details yet,
just that the pieces took out the MAF sensor as well. Since this miata
owner does not have the original intake plumbing, the repair cost is
getting up there....

2000 Miata Convertible Latches Revisited by
JazzAzz
Yesterday I found this very informative youtube video on how to so easily adjust these latches.
And it was a snap. I had been hearing too much wind noise. So will not know how well I did until the next time I take it out, which may not be for another couple of weeks. But how would I know if I made...

Solstice is huge by
Scott Streeter[_4_]
I have not seen one of these up close until today when one was in the
work parking lot. It's huge compared to my NB. The 18" wheels didn't
help either. It's a good looking car in itself but I thought this was
suppost to be a Miata competitor...? Top sucks too. :P

NA Sticky Exterior Door Handle by
Christopher Muto
My passenger side exterior door handle does not snap back when opened.
It has to be pushed back flush with the door in order for the door to
latch/close properly.
I have tried squirting some WD40 into the latch behind the handle but
that only marginally helped.
If I remove the handle from the...

How long will my battery last? by
Scott Streeter
I have a 2000 with the original battery still (4 1/2 years). I drive
my car all year long so it's not sitting at all. Just wondering if I
should be pro-active and change it now so I can avoid getting stuck
becaues this would be the time period it would go considering the age
and heading into...

I own a 2000 Mazda Protege ES..... not a Miata.
Keep thinking abt a Miata tho
But one things Im trying to figure out is how I would haul "stuff"
with a Miata as my only car.
Even with my Protege its damn near useless for hauling anything more
than a sack of groceries. Example I bought some of...

I love my new shoes! by

Since I got my new wheels and tires (949Racing.com's 6ULs in 15x7.5 with
Toyo Tires T1Rs in 195/50) I've started to feel the love for my Miata
again. After the drive home along highway 2 in Washington State and
showing them off to everyone, I've:
