97 SL2 wont start, even with jump by
BobRoberts
For the last 2 months or so it's been taking longer and longer for the
engine to turn over. I have to leave it in park for a little while for the
engine to idle stedily. If I put it in reverse to soon it will stop. But
now it wont start even with a jump. But with a jump the stereo plays and

what do you think? by
Bob[_18_]
Hi.
I have a '96 Saturn SL1 sedan.
For the winter here in New Hampshire,
I have studded snow tires on the front P195 70 R 14 on the front and
regular P175 65 R 14 on the back.
I drive on rural roads up to 55 MPH.
Is this set up safe for my kind of driving?

Oil by
Bob[_18_]
On my '96 Saturn with 187,000 miles, which uses a slight amount of
oil...but runs perfectly........
is it OK to use 10W-40 motor oil?
I was figuring with all the miles and wear on the motor....the
tolerances must have widened a bit and a slightly thinker oil might be
good......
any help would be...

97 SW1 Ignition switch ??? by
[email protected]
97 SW1, 171,000 miles, 275200 kilometers.
The tumbler on the ignition switch has been messed
up for a couple of years now (where you have to fight
it to get the key in the ignition slot).
But just today, I noticed that the alarm bell (ding?)
stays engaged when I remove the key and open the...

I have a sohc engine and the car is idling rough and sounds like a miss at
the tailpipe and running rich. All the plugs are firing. When pulling the
plug wires off one at a time you see a noticeable difference except at the
number 2 cylinder you don't and there is a fast ticking sound coming...

Winter and the Ion by
bosco took
I live in Toronto where it frequently drops below 0 degrees fahrenheit.
I am considering getting a 2005 Ion2. I would appreciate any and all
feedback as to whether there any problems starting an Ion in such
temperatures. I own a 2001 SL2 and never have had a problem

Do I stick with Saturn? by
bosco took
My lease on my 2001 SL2 (33K) is almost up. My dealer wants to place me
in a 2005 Ion2...although a long time Saturn fan, I have heard mixed
reviews about the Ion....The only non-insurance problem I have had with
my SL2 was a dead battery, though I thnik the motor is not as zippy as
it was. Do I...

Upsetting sales call by
Bosco Took
My 2002 SL2 had to be towed in to the dealer for, as it turns out, a dead
battery. I still have 8 months on the lease. I was somewhat "surprised"
when my salesperson called me, while the car was being examined, to tell me
that he saw my car towed in and wanted offer me a "special" deal to put...

Bosco Took
My 2001 SL2 (35,000 Kilometers)would not start and had to be towed in to
my dealer. Before Service even analyzed the reason (turned out to be a
dead battery) my salesperson called me to tell me that he saw my car
towed in and wanted to offer me a special deal that would allow me to
get out of my...

Hyundi Elantra vs Saturn Ion2 by

Friend of mine suggested I consider an Elantra over the Ion2. He said
it is at least as good a car, comes with a 5 yr bumper to bumper
warranty, snd has zero finance purchasing.

Traction on LW200 by
[email protected]
Hi,
I have a 2001 Saturn LW200. When I was jammed in the snow, I realised
that only one wheel (the right one) seem to give some traction. Is it
normal ?
Thank you !

Battery Blues by
Box134
We took a few days off to visit one of our fine lake resorts, as we like to
do every year. My 1996 SL2 was our means of transportation and we covered
the 266 km in short order.
I stopped once to find out where the motel's parking lot was. I moved the
car to the unloading spot and we had a meal and...

How I spent my 100,000 km Service - 1996 SL2 by
Box134
I've followed Saturn's recommended service fairly closely since I got this
boat in the fall of '95. Probably never missed one but had them a little
earlier or later, depending on circumstances. After close to 10 years on the
road I'm still satisfied. My only beef is size, mainly getting in and...
