Accugage Tire Gauge Question by [email protected]
I own two of the gauge in this link: "http://www.amazon.com/Accu-Gage-PSI-Dial-Tire-Gauge/dp/B00070KA5I Both were bought between 5 and 10 years ago, and one has seen regular use while the other has been in storage and just removed from its packaging. On the well-used gauge, the

Help identifying brake drum by [email protected]
My dad bought a wood splitter my grandfather made. The studs needed replaced and to make a long story short I broke the drum while removing the studs. (Apparently my grandfather used parts off of a car or truck for the axle) The drum is finned, is stamped "Ford Motor Company", and has the number...

car brakes on 91 Chevy cavalier. by [email protected]
I have problems with my 91 Chevy cavalier's brakes. When the motor is off, I have good brake pedal; but when I start the engine, the pedal goes to the floor. I have recently replaced shoes, calipers, lines, and yesterday the second master cylinder. Same problem. There is a noise coming from...

Battery or alternator by Michael[_23_]
Or something else? 2003 F150 8 cyl. 5.4 L Driving home, the red battery ion appeared in the dash. I didn't really notice any problems with how it drove and I made it home ok. Driving back (20 minutes), I really didn't notice anything but the ABS and red battery icon appeared. Driving home (20...

Radio stays on after shutdown in 2004 Chevy Express 3500 van by Gene[_6_]
Sometimes, but not always, the radio stays on after I have shut down the engine and exited the van and closed the door resulting in a dead battery the next day. No dash lights are on. In this situation, turning the radio off will still result in the battery being run down the next day when I...

V6 v V8 2014 F150 truck by Michael[_23_]
I've decided to just go ahead and get another truck. I'm looking at 2014 F150s because I've always driven F150s and 2014 because there are great deals on low mileage used vehicles, like almost half the price of 2015s. I've also always driven V8 engines because I sometimes cut and haul wood,...

Cleaning gunk off the inside rear window by geo pearl
My rear window has a layer of gunk on it that windex couldn't clean. I was thinking of using 409, now, but I'm worried about hurting the plastic defrost decal. Are there any precautions I should know? Thanks in advance.

seaside rust - does it ruin underneath? by [email protected]
I came across a Cadillac Catera (rebadged Opel) with only 30,500 miles on it. 2 owners (same family) and unmodified. Only catch is that it has been watching sunset over the ocean for many years and is rusted beyond repair. Interior is still excellent condition, so you could at least strip it out...

Car advice by The Real Bev[_5_]
OK, I want to replace my 1988 Caddy with a 2014 or 15 Corolla, probably from the local dealer. I feel comfy buying old cars, but not cars that you have to (or choose to -- I'm getting lazy) pay somebody to fix. I can pretty much tell what's wrong with an old car, but I have no idea at all...

Oil change intervals? by Percival P. Cassidy[_2_]
The owner's manual for our 2002 Chrysler 300M specifies 3000mile/3month oil changes for "severe use" (which includes the short trips that our car makes most of the time). We bought the car new and have stuck to that schedule pretty well. The owner's manual for our 2008 Vibe specifies...

M35A2 duece and a half military truck cooling system problems by [email protected]
I just bought this truck. It's a 1971 Kaiser with a multifuel diesel engine.. The first time we took it for a ride I noticed that after about 5 miles the temperature was climbing up towards 220 degrees. We brought it back to the house and checked the coolant and found it to be topped off and hot....
