Need used Saturn purchase advice by
Darius
I'm looking to get rid of my fairy unreliable 94 Pontiac Trans Sport.
I want something smaller and (much) more fuel efficient and best of all
made of polymer, which is about the only feature I still enjoy about my
van.
I have my eyes set on a 2001 Saturn SC1 with 5 speed and approx. 70,000
km (or...

System readiness tests by
Scott Adams
97 SL2
What driving conditions have to be met to complete all the system readiness
tests? While I was out of town over New Years, my girlfriend ran the car
out of gas (bad!) She put a couple gallons in, limped home, and it wouldn't
start the next day. I bought a Chilton book, replaced the fuel...

VUE windshield washer spray nozzle blowing out by
Scout
I wonder if any other VUE owners are having a problem with the windshield
washer spray nozzles blowing out. I've had my VUE back 4 times now to have
nozzles replaced. I asked if Saturn is addressing the problem and the
manager told me no, but that they would replace it under warranty, until...

Another CTS problem? by
none
Hi
I have what seems to be the characteristic high idle problem with some
Saturns, but I would like some further advice.
This is a 2000 SL1, 1.9L four door, 175,000 miles. The RPMs seem to go
up unpredictably. Usualy hover around 1500-2000, but sometimes higher.
And now, I'm starting to wonder if...

Code P1133 on 2000 Saturn SL by
Edward Crismond
Hi
I have a 2000 Saturn SL with a high idle problem and a constantly lit
'check engine light'. It only does the high idle intermitantly, when the
engine is warmed up. Sitting at a stop light, while in neutral, the RPM
may shoot up to 2000+. It will idle correctly, at around 800 RPM or so,
after...

02 SC1 starting problem by
Gif J. Peg
I just bought a 2002 SC1 with 5 speed and only 28k miles.
Pretty happy with the car, the only problem is that ocassionally I
have trouble starting it when the engine is cold.
All I get is a click. That happens 4-5 times, and then it finally
starts.
It doesn't happen all the time. I took it to the...

2001 L100 Tail Light by
jtfogarty
My rear tail light just quit and the dealer told me I need to replace the
whole assembly. Priced at $111, I told him forget it. He did mention that
there's a circuit board on each tail light, and mine has failed. If so,
could someone tell me if it's worth trying to fix. I can get a used assembly
on...

1993 SC2 temp gauge 1/4 to 3/4 and back by
tweek2
I have heard a lot of people have the same problem as me. It seems there is
not enough air getting to the raditor at first. Then I realized that the
temp gauge goes up to 3/4 at regular intervals then the fan kicks on and
drops it to 1/4 in a matter of minutes.
The process then repeats. I think...

Question about different types of engines by
Green Shampoo
Hello all! I brought my Saturn to Germany with me and I'm about at 65,000
miles so I figured its time to change my plugs and wires. Problem is, no
auto stores here have parts for Saturns.
I decided to go to Advance Autoparts website and see what they are charging.
Well, I had always thought that...

Could it all be related? by
shadenkat
I have a 2000 Saturn L series, and lately it seems like it is having one
problem after another. Perhaps they are all related, but I am at a loss.
First, the tail light went out. I replaced the entire kit, only to have
the break portion go out again within six months.
The Cd player works,...

Which engine has better reliability? 1.9 SOHC or 1.9 DOHC? by
wiguy79
Hi everyone,
I recently was looking at a Saturn SC2 and the dealer told me that in
his opinion the 1.9 DOHC is more reliable. Is that true? I know in the
history of GM, most of their DOHC engines are crap so I was wondering if
he was just telling me that to get me to buy the car. For...

2000 LS100 - Blower Issues by
carnovice
My blower recently went on the blink. Sometimes it blows, sometimes it
doesn't. Often, when I accellerate, it kicks on. Now that doesn't
even seem to be the case.
This leads me to think that there may be a loose connection. I check
the 20 HVAC fuse and it was fine. There is a fuse block, but...

Experience with 6thplanet ? by
Barry Schnoor
Looking at buying a replacement engine at 6thplanetusedparts.com for a '96
SL2 with coolant in the oil....siezed engine.
Prices and warranty seem reasonable. The folks there seem great to work
with.
Any recommendations? Horror stories?
Thanks.

Saturn Sky by
Jayne
So what does everyone think of the new Sky? Everything, in my opinion is
right. The designs of both the interior and exterior are perfect. I hoping
that Saturn will also incorporate HomeLink, MP3 capability and a few colors
that would be appreciated by us girls. I'd really like to see a hot pink...

Coolant temp sensor by
[email protected]
>From a relative novice: I was replacing the coolant temperature sensor
(we don't have a Saturn dealer in town, so I picked one up from
Autozone -- about $9, brass construction) in my '98 SL2 this morning.
I was warned not to overtighten it, so I tried not to crank it down too
hard. But when I...
