A man has a somewhat nice one of these for sale, runs very strong, I think it is a 2.9L? Automatic. Is this a good engine? Does it have cast iron cylinder heads? Thanks again.

1988 Suburban TBI stalling and choking by tpcolson
5.7L with TBI: I replaced the knock sensor and the cap/roter. It still starts hard and stalls and chokes under acceleration. It won't even make it up a hill unless at idle. Touching the gas pedal causes it to choke and sputter. Any ideas? thanks.

1988 Suzuki Samurai Engines Races when started by hayseed
I busted the fan belt on my Samurai and when I started it to move it it ran at a very high RPM. Is there something on the Belt track like a Vacuum Pump that would cause this? I have left it at my Deer Lease and will take a belt next week, but wondered what else might be wrong. I have hit it...

Hi, I am a visitor to this forum courtesy of a parent who owns a 1988 Landcruiser. The headlights will not come on, and when the switch is turned on, the bright light indicator on the dash comes on (using the headlight switch will not make it go on or off). Also, both turn signals on the dash...

1989 Bronco Ignition Problem by [email protected]
I have a 1989 full-size Ford Bronco (F-150) with a 4.9 liter in-line six, manual transmission (4wd) with A/C. I have owned it for about six years, and a few months ago it began to have very poor power in the lower RPMs. It feels like the engine is missing and trying to die, and the Ford dealership...

1989 Cherokee...what should I check by Richard Smith
Ok Here's my story... Bought a 1989 XJ for $700.00 so I expected problems and am not complaining. Day after I got it, the clutch went out. I took it to my friendly firestone shop who put in a new clutch and a new radiator (the old radiator had a broken neck where the hose hooked into it)

1989 F-350 -- 4x4 indicator light stays on by wvveedub
I recently purchased a 1989 Ford F-350 Super Duty Crew Cab w/ 4wd. When I have it in 2wd, the 4x4 indicator light on the dash stays on. I verified that the hubs were free, the shifter was all the way forward, and that the front driveshaft spins freely. I even gave the relay for the indicator a...

1989 Jeep Cherokee - no power by bille
My 1989 Jeep seems to lose power when the weather is warm or hot. It runs fine during the 60 mile drive to work in the morning, but about 1/3 to 3/4 of the way home it loses power when it is warm or hot. If the weather is cold it runs fine. The MAP, CPS and CTS have been replaced, compression is...

1989 S10 Blazer misses by L8ndeb
Hello All, I've got a 1989 S10 Blazer 4x4, 4.3L, auto, TBI, with approx. 175K miles on it. Last week, my wife, on her way to work, ran over a rock. Since then, the engine has developed a miss. I'm not saying the cause of the miss was hitting a rock, but I thought it might be relevant. The miss...
