Questions about DIY Driveshaft Removal/Installation '91 Civic by Chopface
Hello, I am going to replace both the driveshafts in my 1991 Civic Si with 133k miles. I am getting prepped for the job in terms of tools, parts, and knowledge and have come across a few things where I could use some advice and reassurance. I have done some googling of RAMH and have figured out a...

2001 Accord LX-V6 - weird wheel tuff by George Earl
I have a 2001 Accord LX-V6 with standard wheel covers. Situation 1: About 2 months ago I noticed that the surface of the right front wheel cover was peeling and losing its silver and clear coat coating in spots outside the lug nut area. At first I thought I might have scraped up against...

Buying an older Odyssey by tgeliot
I'm in the market for a car, and the 98 and earlier Odysseys seem like just what I want in terms of size and functionality. Too bad 97 and earlier had lawnmower engines. But in the 98 they put the VTEC, from the Accord, I believe. But there are no 98s to be had. Could I get an older (95-97) and...

Driveshaft Stuck in Hub by Chopface
Hello, I attempted to replace the driveshafts in my '91 Civic Si this weekend and failed. I got the ball joint separated fine, but I could not get the driveshaft out of the wheel hub for the life of me. I soaked it in penetrating oil, beat the hell out of it, tried some light heat cycling (was...

accord fan running by Fredisg
Hi, My wife's 96 Accord is at about 200,000 miles. Still runs fine. I noticed thatg on a hot day, after a drive, when the car is shut off, the radiator fan will still run for quite a while, sometimes at least another 15 or 20 minutes. Should I be concerned about this? It does NOT seem to be...

New floor mats for 95 Odyssey ? by Chuck Connell
Hi all, I want to get a new set of gray cloth floor mats for this car. I am having trouble finding them. I am referring to the removable set of floor mats I bought as an option, not the built-in carpeting that is attached to the metal floor panels. I believe the set is 4 pieces -- 2 for the front,...

Civic Oil pressure light question by Juan
Hello, I have 94 honda civic. The Oil pressure indicator light would sporadically blink at times. I changed the oil to the recommended weight 5w-30. The light didn't show for a day or so and then it was blinking on and off again. I checked the level and it was normal. I drained a bit and...

For a few months now my Honda security system goes off unpredicatbly. It doesn't matter if the van is in the garage or parked outside. I was told that the van needs a new battery, I have never replaced it since I purchase the vehicle 5 years ago. Could an old battery solve the problem? I have...

2004 Accord EX V6 or EX 4 Cyl???? by lcopps
My 4cyl manual is fast, and can hold its own. And the Navi milage computer has registered up to 36MPG on the highway for a tank of fuel. Its almost as cheap to drive as my '88 Accord. RPoole2252 wrote: > i have a V-6 6speed and it's a world of difference than the 4 or the 6 > automatic

I installed a Viper alarm on my 2001 Honda accord two months ago. Now malfunction indicator lamp "check" comes on. I brought my car to the Honda dealer and they said nothing wrong with the car, maybe the viper alarm made it on. I wonder if anybody has similar problem. Thanks a lot Albert

96 Civic I.A.T. sensor by Lou
My "check engine" light recently came on and my mechanic ran a diagnostic check. The computer said I needed a new Internal Air Temperature Sensor. He got one and installed (Honda part--not after market) it. My mechanic reset the computer and the "check engine" light went out.

Tire Wear Pattern by HaroldWho
2001 Civic LX, 30,000 mi (yep, 30k), orig Firestone tires, rotated once. The left front shows uniform tread wear on inboard side ; right front same thing but less noticeable. Is this just a matter of losing alignment, or is there something else I should be concerned about? HaroldWho --

I have been having trouble with the AC in my Civic. The tech replaced both pressure switches then the Electric Load Detector because he got a code that the ELD was not working right. The problem is the compressor doesn't engage about 50% of the time. I get air blowing but not cold. Now he is...

Hello, I am about to purchase a 2004 CR-V EX with Auto Transmission in Southern California. My quote (before tax, license and doc fees) is 20620, which is roughly $700 under invoice. While the 2004 CR-V is not out (yet), it is rather close to the end of the model year. I like this price but...

My brother just bought a 2003 Civic with rear end damage. The air bags didn't blow but, apparently, there is something that blows in the front seat belts? I have never heard of this! Now, I guess the SRS computer has to be reset. Problem: he can't get the car registered until the seat belts...
