stupid crank pulley bolt by disallow
OK I know its been posted like 1000 times, but I seriously think that my pulley bolt is damaged or something, cuz no matter what I do, it won't budge. So far I have tried: 1. 650ft/lb impact wrench with chain wrench and some rubber belt wrapped around pulley to prevent it from spinning. I broke...

I might buy this 1990 Civic, see . . . by phillystyle
Hi everybody, I'm looking at buying a cheap used car and I have a lead on a 1990 Civic -- manual tranny. I've done a little (very little) research on this model and it seems to be the least mecahnically reliable model year of the "recent" Civics (one website has a 5-star rating system, this model...

mail order parts by Ed Overly
Anyone having good luck with mail order Honda parts? I ordered four oil filters and a bulb from Majestic Honda for a total of $20.82. Then they charged me $4.95 for handling and $8.22 for freight. I thought this was pretty outrageous! I called Hparts recently and they didn't answer the phone.

Why do vents default to outside air? by Jeff
Just wondering--whenever I use the AC, my Accord keeps defaulting to outside air (as do most newer vehicles, I've noticed). I drive mostly in traffic and don't like to breathe exhaust fumes filling the car, so I'm continually resetting it to recirc. But I'm curious as to why outside air is the...

Help with vehicle choice by Don
We have our second child coming and I am thinking of selling my 90 Mustang and 89 F-150 to get something I can drive and take the kids if I want. (Know we go in my wife's 99 Malibu). I drive about 50 miles a day during the week. I have been thinking of a FOrd Escape or something used. I really...

1998 accord battery life by Matthew
I have a 1998 Accord EX V6 with 75k miles, live on Long Island. My battery seems fine....starts right up, green eye. For me at least this is the longest I ever got from a battery. Not that I am complaining but does it pay to just replace it anyway? Any way to tell of it's impending failure?...

Add tranny drain line? by George R. Gonzalez
Hi, I wonder is this is feasible: I have a 1996 Acura Integra with rather dirty automatic transmission fluid. Changing it a time or two or three seems a bit messy... What do you folks think of addling a little drain valve on the transmission cooler line? It looks like a not too rugged 3/8"...

Low gas mileage for 1998 Accord by jbourgeois
I have a 1998 Accord with 117k. It gets 22 mpg in town and 32 highway. Recently I had an evaporation system repair: the 2-way valve and canister were replaced. Any thoughts on why the gas mileage is so low? Also, the engine "bucks" occasionally; in other words as I am driving forward it almost...

2003 Odyssey Hesitation by Bill Gutknecht
I've been having trouble with this van since we got it 2 years ago, and it's getting worse. It seems that around 40 and 60 mph, when we are just light on the accelerator to maintain constant speed, the tran almost seems like it slips to neutral. RPMs drop to idle and we slow down. Applying...

Follow up from "91 civic won't start" by Chris Garcia
Strangest damned thing.. I get in the car, switch to the ON position, wait for the fuel pump to finish.. Crank, and it starts w/ no problems.. Idle was a bit rough at first (I don't blame it, it hadn't been used for almost 2 months) .. I took it around the block and it was back to normal.. Only...
