'97 Explorer flood caused oil leak by
Joe
OK, here is my problem. I'm an idiot and accidentally drove my '97 AWD
V8 XLT (which was in great condition) into 2 feet of water and got
stuck. No, I didn't know it was 2 feet, and no I should not have driven
into it not knowing how deep it was. With that out of the way, here is
my problem...

My Spare Fell Off Too--Was There A Recall? by
Ulysses
Before I call Ford I just wanted to know if the spare tire cable was ever
actually recalled and if I should expect them to replace it for free or not.
The only posts I found on the subject were from 2000 and were not
conclusive.
Thanks.

'97 Front Wheel Bearings by
krupnikas
I was told that the low gearing noise while coming to a stop in my '97
Explorer 4 DR, 4x4, 6.0L can be fixed by replacement of the 2 hubs and
bearing parts. The shop aggreed that I can supply my own parts, but I would
like to know which bearing part should be included in the repair.
Looking at...

[email protected]
Ford Explorer 2002 XLT, 95k km on it.
After a cold start, when accelerating between 20-50km/hr I get an
intermittent rattle coming from underneath the front of the truck...its
fairly quiet but noticeable if you don't have the radio on. After
driving for about 10-15 minutes the rattle goes away,...

Bad Dealer? Am I Making a Mountain Out Of A Molehill? by
D.D. Palmer
I took my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer to my local Ford dealer today for service
(the L-M dealer is further away so I figured that a Mountaineer is the same
thing as an Explorer). When I got there, I told them I wanted the tires
rotated and the oil changed. I pointed out that the vehicle called...

Warrantee Question by
Mickey Knox
Would anyone know if the rear glass hinge is covered under the 36/36 bumper
to bumper warrantee? I went to open it yesterday and the hinge broke. I
managed to push the window back up and get it shut, but it is only on one
hinge.
Will Ford cover this?
Thanks

Child safety locks on back doors of 2000 Explorer by
[email protected]
On the rear passenger side door, the safety lever engages & disengages
fine. However, no matter how I flip the lever, I can not get it to
disengage on the driver's side (that door always has to be opened from
the outside). The lever feels the same on both sides (i.e. it doesn't
feel stuck, or...

'02 XLT windows intermittent by
Bob
This problem comes and goes. The two left side windows don't always work.
The left front seems the most intermittent. It mostly works, then it won't
open (I usually keep all the windows closed).
Once, when the left rear wasn't working (from the driver's control switch),
I tried its control, too....

Gasoline coming out of tail pipe in a 93 by
SlartiBartfast
I fired up my 93 Explorer this morning (Friday the 13th) and it would
not start, I smelled gas, so thought that I had flooded it....started
it with the pedal floored, and it ran really roughly and would die
after letting off the gas. Smelled gas and saw blue smoke, look under

'94 serpintine belt for A/C compressor bypass by
alex
Hello
I would like to install a serpentine belt that bypasses my A/C
compressor before it locks up. I understand that it may be possible to
simply install a shorter belt and I wonder what size belt I could use.
Any insight would be appreciated
Thanx
Alex
