Help me understand...(2004 MSM) by Hal
On the Mazdaspeed Miata, there are two turbo regulating things I see under the hood. The bypass valve, which is 100% mechanical in nature, I understand. The 'signal' line for the bypass valve is past the throttle plate, thus...if you are say, hauling ass in 6th gear, at full boost..and suddenly you...

Thermostat Recommendation Needed by Pat[_6_]
I usually try to remain with Mazda parts but I realize that sometimes its worth going with other brands. I have a 1991 Miata and the thermostat is about gone. I can not remember the last time it was replaced, could be many years old. Should I get a stock Mazda thermostat from a Mazda dealer....

Best exterior rubber protector and renewer? by Pat[_6_]
'91 Miata. The exterior rubber around the windshield, around the door windows and window wiper blades and door jams. Getting hard and not very supple over the years. I want to renew them, perk them up, and protect against upcoming winter.

Hard Top Time by Tim M.
Well, after 5 inches of snow earlier this week and predictions of sleet and freezing rain for tonight, I decided that this afternoon was the perfect time to put the hardtop on the Miata for the winter. My son and a friend of his helped bring the top up out of the basement and around to the garage....

Debugging the defroster... by Tim M.
So, I love the hard top, more headroom, lots more rear visibility, quieter, car seems to sawm up inside faster and stay warm easier, and the radio is a lot easier to hear. However, the onlt way to clear the condensation off the rear window is with the dash vents set to hot/high and aimed at the...

Popping in on Arnie by Me[_12_]
I used to travel O/S on business a bit. I never thought of trying the good old Kiwi approach that Rodney seems to favour - "Popping In". I suppose he thought that while he and Arnie discussed power-lifting and prudent fiscal management, Maria and Louise could have whipped up some scones and a...

Trip Report by Tim M.
Drove the '97 Miata up to New Jersey after work on Friday, arrivign at my hotel at midnight, some 225 miles from home. The car ran flawlessly at the prevailing traffic flow of 75-80mph, returning about 28.5 mpg. Top down the whole way, listening to a couple of new CDs. Saturday morning I made...

Happy Thanksgiving! (yesterday) Also, thanks to Brian M. by pws[_1_]
Brian M., thank you for your email on the OTM car trouble. I can not reply by email for some reason that is probably my fault, so I am thanking you here, as I am too lazy to fix computer problems today. Oh yeah, to all of the many thousands of people still left on r.a.m.m.m., Happy belated...

Help ?? I've got a 2002 MX5 iS and the radio is starting to drive me nuts ! I have the in-dash CD changer version and it has started to change radio channels when news is broadcast - a bit like traffic information- I must have pressed some magic sequence of buttons at some point, but the manual...

What doesn't work....and a question by Hal
Cut-to-fit hoses. Total crap. I bought them from Autozone(I know, you may commence insulting me now...) when I was doing the water pump/ timing belt job on my 97 NA. I needed new hoses, the originals were a little crusty looking and I wanted to drive the car. I noted when I was installing them that...

Limping home by miker[_2_]
Heard a weird creaking (no, not the exhaust, haha) as I backed out of my parking spot. Pulled out onto the highway and all of a sudden there's this violent oscillation, kinda like you'd get with a bent axle/wheel only felt like it was up and down as well as side to side... jelly-like feel to the...
