Headlight opinions by Vito
I have a 96 EB AWD V8 with 242K miles on it. The headlights are starting to take on that yellowed appearance. Has anyone else tried any of the aftermarket OEM replacements, or the "Diamond cut lenses"? Which provided greater light output without blinding oncoming drivers, and still retained...

Clutch life prediction? by Anthony Giorgianni[_1_]
For those of you who have or had a manual Explorer, what kind of like did you get out of the clutch. Per my other recent posts here, I've just brought my XLT tot he dealer for a clutch pedal problem. And the dealer is suggesting that now - 85,000 miles - is a reasonable time to do the...

Repair shop rate by Anthony Giorgianni[_1_]
Hello All Per my earlier post (Clutch issue 92), I've decided, as advised, to have the clutch fluid replaced. A Ford dealer says they can do this and test the system at the same time. The dealer has a $90/hour rate. That seems a bit high (northern Westchester, NY) Just wondering what rates shop...

2005 Fog Lamp Replacement by TJN
The passenger-side fog lamp on my 2005 Explorer took a rock and cracked. Other than my friendly neighborhood Ford dealership, can anyone recommend another source (on-line or otherwise) for a genuine OEM or aftermarket replacement? I use them frequently and need quality & reliability. Thanks!

Replacing axle damper shock on 99 XLT by Mikepier
I recently replaced all 4 shocks myself and I held off on replacing the rear axle damper. I was just wondering if anyone else replaced theirs and if you noticed a difference in ride? Is it mostly for off roading?

My explorer has 80,000 and recently I have notice a low pitched noise from the rear of the truck. It varies with speed and it's not very loud. It may be a wheel bearing or something else. Anyone else had a similar problem? How do you find if there has been a service notice or recall? Thanks for...

98' Mazda B4000 RWD 5spd HARD to shift into 1st from stop by [email protected]
No grinding just hard to get into gear with clutch all the way down. While at a stop, effort is less if you go from 2nd to 1st gear then let out the clutch. My syncros ? Trans oil and rear diff oil have recently been changed and there is no difference.

Chime switch location by Jay1028
I want to be able to listen to the radio and have the drivers door open. Of course, the chiming is annoying. I don't see a old style pin switch to depress to stop the chiming. Where is the switch? I don't want to disable the chime because it comes in handy for the parking/headlight mionder. Jay
