L200 A/C quit; $800? by
WLS
2002 L200 w/83K mi. A/C was cold one day - hot the next day. Saturn says
"must be the compressor" after diagnosing the problem; estimate-$800! Took
it home, hooked up the pressure gauges and a can of R134. 100 lbs on both
sides; wouldn't suck in the refrigerant. Compressor runs continuous,
blower...

Hood release spring by
[email protected]
The hood release spring on my '01 SC2 has vanished. It's the big one
in the latch mechanism that causes the hood to pop when you pull the
release.
Where can I get the specs on that spring to replace it?

Starting/idle problem by
William Hughes
1995 SW2 DOHC auto a/c @184,000
Problem: Starts hard when cold, must floor accelerator, blows blue-gray smoke
for about five seconds after start. Will not start at all when hot; just cranks
and barely fires. Acts like it's flooded. Runs fine when it does start, although
idle speed is high (@1,100...

Transmission Service by
Wild Bill
It is well past the time for my son's Saturn transmission to be serviced.
My Nissan guy used a process that exchanges/replaces over 90% of the fluid,
but the down side is that pan doesn't come off and the filter doesn't get
changed. It is my understanding that conventional transmission...

Which engine has better reliability? 1.9 SOHC or 1.9 DOHC? by
wiguy79
Hi everyone,
I recently was looking at a Saturn SC2 and the dealer told me that in
his opinion the 1.9 DOHC is more reliable. Is that true? I know in the
history of GM, most of their DOHC engines are crap so I was wondering if
he was just telling me that to get me to buy the car. For...

brake pedal to floor after bleeding by
wieldymouse
I recently changed the pads on the front of an SL2. When I went to test
drive it, the pedal ad little pressure, but the car would stop. I thought
maybe I needed to bleed it. After doing that, the pedal has absolutely no
pressure and the brakes don't work at all. Can someone help me out here?

'02 Saturn SC1 Brake Lights by
why, me
How are the brake lights activated? The high level stop works but the
brake/rear tail lights are not operating. Had them flash once while I
was testing to see if anything was working. I know it is possible that
both lights are burned out but filament looks good.
