1993 SC2 temp gauge 1/4 to 3/4 and back by tweek2
I have heard a lot of people have the same problem as me. It seems there is not enough air getting to the raditor at first. Then I realized that the temp gauge goes up to 3/4 at regular intervals then the fan kicks on and drops it to 1/4 in a matter of minutes. The process then repeats. I think...

2001 lw300 SES by Tuneup
in cold weather here in new england i thought i had frozen fuel lines so i used a generic form of gas line antifreeze/injector cleaner (found out the battery went bad and replaced it) but this cheap stuff caused the ses light to come on i think, also there was lotsa salt on the roads here really...

How do I perform a "Current load test"? by tuko
I want to perform a current load test so that I can test my alternator. It seems to put out enough voltage, but I was cautioned that the alternator may still not be putting out the necessary amps. Can I perform this test with my trusty hand held Craftsman multimeter? It was about 30 bucks,...

96 Saturn SC2 - Battery light comes on after ten minutes of driving...then goes away. by tuko
Any help on this topic will be greatly appreciated. When I drive for about 10 minutes, the battery light comes on and stays on steady for about 1 minute, and then it goes away. It won't come back on for the rest of the drive. This only happens when I haven't driven the car for about 8...

02' SL1 accelerating when braking...HELP! by tswatkins
I have a 2002 Saturn SL1, and a good 1/3 of the time when I break (whether on a hill or on flat road), the car accelerates up to 2,500 RPMs. It also happens when I am almost completely stopped, which worries me because I don't want to bump anyone on front of me. I am trying to find some answers...

TRAC traction. Does it affect mileage?? by TSMANGOD
Howdy. I've asked this of several people who own Saturns, and nobody can tell me the advantage/disadvantage of having the Trac traction switched on versus turning it off. I usually turn it off, because the light annoys me, but if I were on slippery roads, I'd use it. But does it have any effect...

Trunk Mounted CD changer?? Keeps changing, even when the car's off. by TSMANGOD
Hello, My '96 SL has a 12 disc CD changer mounted in the trunk. Sometimes, but not allways, if I leave the CD's in the unit, it'll keep switching between them, even when the car is off. Nothing else is on, in the car, but this thing keeps shifting through the CD's. Even if the CD holder is...

Oil question What the manual says, vs. what Dad says. by TSMANGOD
Hi, all, I have a 96 Saturn SL, and it's begun to burn oil when I really give it the gas. I can see a cloud behind me. My Dad told me that I might be able to alleviate that by using 10w40, instead of the 5w30 the manual calls for. I live in Michigan, so it's going to get cold. Is there any truth...

No reverse, when the engine is warmed up. 96 Saturn SL by TSMANGOD
Hello, My Service Engine Soon light has come on and my reverse isn't working, when the engine is warmed up. It goes into reverse when it's cold, which it starts out, here in Michigan, but it seems to shift hard in drive and once the engine warms up, I pretty much need a pull-through to park...

Dead Saturn...What To Do? by Troy Barber
Hello, My wife's '92 Saturn was starved for oil last spring when a timing belt guide was not cleaned out of the oil pan properly (after the belt was replaced) and the car was driven basically without oil for almost twenty minutes some months afterward. Suffice it to say that I don't think...

91 SL2 = cuts out on acceleration, but not consistantly by tropikona
Since August my car been 'dogging' out but not all the time. It happens mainly after decceleration and then when I depress the gas it just cuts out. When I pull up to a stoplight unless I keep both feet on the gas and break to prevent it from dying. This will happen for several days at a time...
