Broken Exhaust Manifold Stud: 2002 VUE 2.2 FWD by [email protected]
Hi folks, Unfortunately, one of the studs on my exhaust manifold broke, resulting in a light ticking moise when the engine is revved (it sounds like a valve noise). My Saturn mechanic said it happens all the time to the 2.2 engines and it's the stud on the passenger side of the engine. He also...

burning oil...? by [email protected]
I drive a 96 Saturn sc2. 2 door voup. Black. I recently changed out the radiator, water pump, belt and plugs/wires and I noticed the other day that I'm putting oil in it. Betweek oil changes and this leads me to be almost certain that I am in fact burning oil. I've got about 130,000 miles on it...

Burning oil/PCV valve by Lee3333
My 1999 Saturn does not use any oil. My 1993 goes through a quart every 500 miles. I put dye in the oil and checked for leaks but did not find any yet, but my mechanic said we should look again in a few days. (There is a wet patch in my driveway) Meanwhile, the car does not appear to be burning...

Burnt valve - what to do by [email protected]
I have a 2002 SL1 that has had regular maintenance since I bought it used in 2004. Recently I went about 1500 miles over the 3000 limit between "checkups" and brought it in. No oil changes etc. since the last inspection. It had started "hesitating" a bit during acceleration so they checked that....

Button by Shifter by Andrew Stone via CarKB.com
OK, when I bought my car, it didn't come with any manual, and I haven't been able to afford one. I only had one quick question. There is a little switch/button on the lower right hand side of the shifter. I believe it switches from Perf to Norm. Does anyone know what this button/switch...

Buying Used Saturn by Ken Teich
We are considering a second car for congested suburb / city driving. Hoping to keep it around $10k. I haven't looked at the used car market for about 15yrs. Looking online I saw a couple of 01 and 02 SC2's. They seem to be fairly sporty for us kidless 30-somethings, more fuel-efficient than our...

Bye, bye Saturn? by Oppie[_7_]
The '01 lw300 has almost 203K miles on it. Last few weeks, something was clunking when I started it up though it went away after a second or two. Was thinking possibly time to use a heavier oil. Now, at 3K to 4K RPMs, the sound comes back. I'm leaning toward a main rod bearing that is...
