replacing or repairing alternator on 2001 L200 by
jatade
Hi all,
The bearings in my 2001 alternator are going out. I checked at the
local O'reilly's and the cost was $250...(ouch). Anyway is there an
alternative that will be cheaper? If not is it possible to rebuild
this alternator?
BTW...this is my second Saturn and I love em.

2002 SL1 Tires by
Stilgar[bbs.isca.uiowa.edu]
If you read my other post today, you'd see that my 2002 SL1 has 98,000
miles on the original Firestone tires.
But, with 98,000 miles, they're really starting to show their age.
They're to the point where they've started to squeal when I make tight
corners, and it looks like some cracks are...

L300 6 cylinder wagon by

Parents just bought one. I'm surprised by how much pressure the accelerator
pedal takes to get the car moving from a stop compared to other cars I've
driven. Wondering if this is typical or should the dealer check it.

At this show you get to drive the cars. I drove a Cadillac CTS, a Cadillac
Escalade, an H2, a six speed Corvette, and a few assorted Saabs. They did

SL2 Condenser question by
rud
Hi, stopped over to help a friend put a new (reman) condenser in his
SL2. I noticed only one of the lines had an o-ring (the smaller line
at the bottom.) Is the upper line supposed to have an o-ring on the
line as it enters the condenser as well? I called Saturn but they said
they couldn't tell...

pressure control solenoid by
Larry C
My wifes 2000 Saturn LW2 started having the service light come on. We took
it to the dealer and the code reader gave an error 1811 (I believe that was
the number). They said this error coupled with a jerky shift when the light
comes on means the pressure control solenoid is going bad. They quoted...

Low Coolant dash indicator '99 SL2 by
David Allen
Every so often, the low coolant indicator flashes on the dash. Actually, 2
lamps flash simultaneously - the Low Coolant and Temp lamps. The owner's
manual warns of a low coolant condition and to fill the reservoir.
Ok, I check the reservoir and the coolant level is right where it should be

odometer gear failure by
Mike
Well the odometer failed for the 2nd time on my 92 SC. The first time I got
a refurbished insturment cluster from saturn for a fairly high price. Now
Saturn wants $500+ for a rebuilt cluster.
All because a small plastic gear failed in the odometer.
I think I have a good solution: ...

Saturn LW300 cargo area liner by
Art
Anyone find a cheaper cargo area liner for a Saturn L300 wagon. Factory
version is $90. Thanks. Seems high since the one I bought for a 300M trunk
was about half that at my Chrysler dealer and a perfect fit.
