I had the same stuttering problem with my 94 explorer. Changed the MAF sensor (Mass Air Flow) and it corrected the problem.

Has anyone replace plugs 2 & 3 those on the passenger side closest to the fire wall on an explorer 4.0l sohc engine. My plug wrench and plug cap removal tool don't fit between the AC unit and the plug. Are there special tools or do I remove the AC unit to replace these 2 plugs?

What's the remove/replace procedure for the 99 high mountl amp. The newer ones have external screws but this must have some internal release behind the liner or else some kind of snap release.
