heater/cooler door module '97 explorer by
s_landa
I cannot regulate the temp any longer on my '97. The dealer says its the
"door" module and will take 10 hours to remove the dash and get to it. He
says it will cost $1200 to fix without even looking at the compressor,
dryer, etc. If that needs fixing, it will cost another $1200.
Could this be...

Tranny fluid change: Drop pan or siphon? by
s_landa
Xpress Lube offers a transmission service that appears to suck the old
fluid out and replace it with new. All of this without the usual filter
change. Car Talk guys do this.
How does it work? What if I stick a tube down the dipstick hole and siphon
all I can and then replace the fluid?
I...

'97 compressor not running by
s_landa
I can turn the compressor, but it won't "engage." The fanbelt part turns.
the inner part turns by hand. Is there a thermal switch that kicks on the
clutch?
I've looked for a fuse, but no luck. Is there a "short" that would force
it to work?

Low fuel pressure 1993 Ford Explorer XLT by
[email protected]
My car jerks as if its running out of gas when I try to accelerate and it hiccups when it idles also. The fuel filter is new. I spent $210.00 on diagnostic testing that told the mechanic the same thing I told him and injection treatment that will take a week to run through my tank. So, I walked...

99 XLT steering making noises by
TandT
When I turn steering eather way it makes horrible squeeling/grinding
sounds. Got out of car and pussed down on front right finder and makes
creeking sounds like metal on metal. Was told to lub bushings and see if
it works. Being a woman I am curious if this really works and grease it
and no noise....

Rear Door Panel by
Taoshum
No one had any input so here's one way, fyi:
for a 1996 XLT, open the rear window, remove the gasket around the
window opening, use a broad screwdriver to pry out the plastic rivets
around the top of the plastic molding, there's about 6 of these.
Remove the screws holding the inside pull strap,...

I just discovered I that I have a minor oil leak underneath the engine not
sure yet if it's coming from the oil plug or the oil pan itself.
Does anyone have any experience in replacing the plug or the oil pan itself?
How much will it cost to have the oil pan replaced? Although...

QUestion on rearview mirror replacement by
Tax frustrated
Hello
The rear view mirror on my 92 XLT just fell off (79,000 miles on the truck
and it's still like new - except for the mirror). I've checked all the old
posts and the former Singleton site and don't see anything on this
particular issue:
When the mirror fell off, it left like a little plastic...
