91 Shadow won't stay running by [email protected]
Hi- Just got a 1991 Dodge Shadow 2.5 L for free, 'cept it won't stay running. The guy who gave me the car said MAP sensor, so I replaced it with no results.Basically, the car, when cold, will fire up and run, sputteringly for a few seconds, and if you give it some gas, it seems like it's misfiring...

2001 Dodge Pickup won't idle: by Bushleague
Hi a buddy brought me his 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Pickup he says won't idle, check engine light is on. The truck is a 5.9L gas vin "Z". I ran the truck and it runs okay but won't idle unless you warm it up and race it a little. I plugged my trusty Actron scan tool into the aldl connector and retrieved...

2002 Dodge Dakota won't start: by Bushleague
Hi a buddy has a 2002 Dodge Dakota that won't start in his driveway. It has a V-6 and app. 37,000 miles on it. The fuel pump runs fine, 45 psi at the rail. I checked for spark at the coil, no spark so I swapped out the coil to no avail. Should I be looking for a sensor (crankshaft) of some sort? ...

98 Grand Voyager Radiator Fan won't shut off by Byron Clinkingbeard
Just got home from work and the radiator fan won't shut off. Pulled the 40A fuse and shut it down, but I'm thinking there must be a relay sticking. There isn't a relay in the relay/fuse panel under the hood. Can anybody help me? Short of taking the fuse out every time I turn it off, what can I...

Chrysler's Glory Days by [email protected]
I became aware of an Internet Archive "Way Back Machine" website the other day. www.web.archive.com In this website, you can search archived webpages and websites going back to the late 1990s. I mention this in respect to the prior Car and Truck News website, which was specifically...

What's the deal with the Challenger ? by [email protected]
4100 lbs is where the normal Chrysler Newports "titled" at in the middle 1960s and then grew to about 4200 lbs with the Fuselage '69-'73 C-body cars. Imperials were heavier. They gained another 100 or so pounds with the '74-'78 C-body cars. Seems that our fascination with 5-star safety ratings...

Engine fell apart at 59k mi - Why I will never buy anotherChry... by [email protected]
As a general rule, GM might take better care of their customers and use "Goodwill" to help pay for out-of-warranty (not significantly-so, however) customer repair expenses. At least, they have been known to try to help out rather than otherwise. As the FAQs state, building a good relationship at...

1991 Dynasty - Various Questions by C. Bailey
I just bought a new vehicle, and now I need to decide if I am going to keep the 91' Dynasty as my commute vehicle or if I am going to get rid of it. The Dynasty has transmission issues, but beyond that, it runs well. It has 120,000 miles on it. I am debating spending money to fix the...

A very special Dodge Daytona 500 by C.L. \Budd\ Cochran
Well, it was good enough to get banned .... like so many other Chrysler cars and engines, so it has a beauty that's more than skin deep. If you can't beat it, ban it. --

I have a 97 LHS and I was wondering if anyone kinew of a good site or place I could get some performance parts for it. My LHS has the same motor as the 300M so I think that any part for the 300M would work, but then again I am not sure. If anyone could give me any information on this I would be...

An aside on lubricants (non Mopar specific) by [email protected]
Common sense sometimes has to be used as well as following specifications. I used to own a Corvair, and I made it a point to use AD ashless dispersant aircraft oil exclusively. These oils are not SAE rated nor recommended for automotive use. However, for decades, the Chevy Power manual recommended...

cartoon: improving the electric car by [email protected]
One can comfortably dry one's hands a foot from the exhaust of a fourth gen Chrysler Turbine Car at idle, and on K-1 kero the smell isn't even a problem. As the power pedal is advanced, you will move away promptly, but you won't be burned. Peak EGT is probably 350 degrees, and would only be...
