Anyone tried Mr Clean car wash? by
Harlen Ng
Is the $40 Mr. Clean AutoDry carwash kit really work as advertised? I'm
interested in no spots with no hand drying. Your experience is appreciated.
Thanks -

Police vehicles by
William R. Watt
I finished the report on alternatives to Crown Victorias last night.
There is an Excel 97 spreadsheet that can be used for comparing vehicle costs.
It's at www.ncf.ca/~ag384/Ottawa2006CarSpreadsheet.htm.

Dealer's License in Maryland by
[email protected]
I am interested in starting a business whereby I would take client to
auto auctions to buy cars. But when I looked into getting a dealers
license in Maryland they require you to have an approved lot. I have
no plans on having a lot.
Does anybody know the rules and ways around the lot requirement.

Cruising RPM on VW Golf by
Jem Berkes
My 1990s Volkswagon Golf (gas, manual) idles around 900 RPM and redlines
near 6000 RPM. I'm wondering what is the ideal RPM to target while cruising
(don't require acceleration), for best efficiency?
Is it too low to cruise in the city at 2000 RPM ?
Highway speeds in 5th gear tend to keep me over...

Mazda Protege - water on floor by
KT
I'm taking on water on the passenger side of my 2000 Mazda Protege.
We've had a prolonged period of drought here in the midwest, so it's
definitely not rain leakage. It happened last summer, also, but the
dealer can't seem to find what's wrong. I've also taken it to an
independent mechanic who...

Caliper slider pin is stuck by
[email protected]
I am trying to replace the calipers and brake pads on the front of a
'93 Tracker. I've had a heck of time because of rust, but I managed to
get through most of the problems without too much difficulty. Until
now, that is. One of the slider pins is thoroughly stuck. I cut the
little rubber boot...

When to switch tires by
Mark Carroll
I used to use all-season tires and get a new set when, at regular
servicing, my garage told me the old ones were nearly worn out. I've
decided to switch to having a summer set and a winter set so now I
wonder, how do you guys decide when the time is to switch sets? Do you
look for first frost to...

Cooant Leak by
Justin Collins
Hi,
I have a tiny leak in my water pump and was talking to a friend of
mine. He said a common remidy of this is to put an egg in with the
coolant and as it cooks it'll seep into the holes sealing the leak, at
least fairly well.
is there any truth to this?
any problems either?

What has happened to the skyrocketing prices of R-134a?
Is there an alternative on the horizon and if so, what is
the name and expected release date and expected price?

police vehicles? by
William R. Watt
We're looking for ways to reduce the cost of police services in Ottawa.
We use Ford Crown Victorias ("Police Interceptor") for cruisers and are
considering smaller more fuel-efficient vehicles. Any suggestions?
From watching European films and TV shows I see the police in Britain
were driving Ford...

89 buick lasabre a/c by
Piedmont
Needing help with my 89 buick lasabre a/c. The compressor is not engaging,
no cold air, blower works.
I checked 25amp fuse and it is ok, I bought a refill kit and pressure reads
good. Also, this isn't the original compressor, I had it replace about 5
years ago.
Is there a relay or something else...
