OMG - A Cadillac Wagon! by
PerfectReign
I know this isn't a.a.gm, but I thought it too funny. Today, I drove my
wife's Vue to the gym. I ended up parking next to this car. It wasn't
recognizable, so I looked at the make - Caddy. But wait - it was a station
wagon! I couldn't belive it a Cadillac station wagon.
No wonder GM is having...

94 sc2 Power Steering Pump by
[email protected]
I just recently tried to change the power steering pump on my saturn.
It seemed pretty easy for the most part. I used a reman and had to swap
off the pulley, bottle, and actuator. After getting it back together
the steering was very hard to turn. After a while I decided to put the
old pump on, same...

Hi -

I am not familiar with the VUE but have heard a few bad things about
them. Mostly regarding the automatic...

Cracked door panels by
Chris Moore
Anyone experienced broken exterior door skins? Had one appear to "shatter"
at the lower leading edge on my wife's '05 Vue. No evidence of impact on
the panel or anywhere around it, but it does look like the lower edge of the
panel might be unevenly screwed to the door frame.
Found some mentions...

I have a power issue! Any Clue by
Brygr
My uncle just gave me his 1995 Saturn which was out of use for a year. I
bought a new battery for it, and the same day much later My headlights
went dim, dashboard dim until finally I pushed the clutch in and the
engine died. It will restart but not until a 10min break. The car is a
stick shift....

Temp gauge reads cold by
Ratbert
On a ~100-mile drive, the temperature gauge on our 98 SL2 never went
over about 1/8. The heater seemed to be blowing out plenty of warm air
on us. Does this sound like a bad thermostat, CTS, or something else?

'96 SL2 will not start cold by
JLBrownie
It began this fall, started the car it ran rough and I notice the temp
gauge jumping from cold to normal operating temp. Disconnected the battery
and checked temp and other connections. That stopped the gauge from jumping
around but now I have to spray starting fluid a few times before it'll run.
I...

Is there a simple (any) way to hold the pump shaft to remove
the bolts that bolds the pully?
I am about to cut them off but that wont be easy either!

Radiator plastic reservoir 1995 by
Gilles
I have an SL2 twin cam 95 with a manual transmission. One of the plastic
reservoirs on the radiator is broken. Is it possible to replace only this
reservoir and not the entire radiator? Is there some supplier in Canada for
this plastic part?
Thanks!

auto trans shifting late by
njot
Hi-
I have a 93 Saturn SL2 which shifts late 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th.
The engine has to rev way up (3300-3800 rpm) before it shfits.
Shifting 1-2 does not seem to be a problem. It used to shift at maybe
2500 rpm before. The transmission is not slipping just shifting later
than it should.
Sometimes...

A question of durability by
NewsGroupie
I have a 1994 SL2 with 119,000 Miles. My Penn State (PS) son is Main-Campus
bound Sep 2006 to finish the remaining two years. I live about 150 miles
away. Except for normal maintenance, the car runs fine. I anticipate his
driving to and from PS eight (8) times. Is it prudent to have him drive...

Throttle plate sticking -- fixed, but a question by
[email protected]
95 SW2, automatic, "alternative fuel" model (burns oil).
The throttle plate was sticking, and opened it up to find lots of black
grime, which I cleaned out. Now it is working nicely, but it begs the
question -- how did that stuff get there in the first place? Is it
symptomatic of other problems...
