Cigarette Lighter Replacement by
Christopher Muto
My second hand '95 came with a defective cigarette lighter and I could not
find instructions on how to replace it
For what it is worth, here is how I got mine installed.
Proceed at your own risk.
The part cost $28 from finishlineperformance.com.
You probably should study it to see how the metal...

Save Gas with your GPS Device by
virig[_2_]
The most common ways to let a GPS help you save on gas is by asking it
to help you find the quickest, not the shortest route.

Re-occurring P1135 engine code on Miata 2000 above 4000 RPM by
Rho
I have replaced the front heated oxygen sensor with a Mazda new unit to
fix a fault consistent with the P1135 indicator and I have cleared the
engine code/CEL. However, whenever I wind up the engine above 4000 RPMs,
the engine light, the P1135 code and 2 sensor indicators (whatever that
is)...

Cat rattle - replacement ideas? by
miker
My '96 has a horrendous exhaust rattle - I did the rubber mallet thing and
it seems to be coming from the cat, the front resonator, or both... hard to
tell. The PO put a Flying Miata system on, I think a catback (front
resonator is not rusty, stainless?, dual-tip not-rusty muffler is labeled

Mazda RX7 F.S. Really Really Cheap! by
Jim and Michelle
I have a 1983 RX7 with a good running 12A rotary engine and a good 5 speed
transmission. The doors are straight and rust free, no bondo. All the glass
is good.Everything works The rest of the body is beat up, especially the
front end. It was involved in a minor collision. In my opinion it would...

No Miata yet.... by
XS11E[_3_]
I apparently misunderstood when I thought the paint shop said I'd get
the car back last Friday, they called my yesterday morning and said it
would be done this coming Friday, the twentytooth.
Too bad, we're having good top down weather and my new tires are still
waiting for a test drive around...

Who's here? by
Chris D'Agnolo
Well, it's been entirely too quiet around here lately. The only really
interesting posts I've seen lately on this thread were political (off topic)
and as much as I love this groups ability to stay on topic (unlike most
newsgroups), it was at least nice to see human communication taking place....

High pitch whinner ('90) by
Chip L
'90 Miata 106k miles.
My car has developed a very high pitched whine/whistle coming from the
drivers rear wheel. Seems to take 15-20 minutes for the whine to
begin. Can eliminate temporarily by pulling up emergency brake or
swerving car f/ side to side. Brakes? Bearing? If bearing, is there...

Best bang for buck on rotors and pads? by
pws[_1_]
It's brake service time. I plan to put rebuilt calipers on with new pads
and new rotors. I am leaning towards OEM on both but am thinking about
Hawk pads.
What'cha running for brakes, and what did the rotors and pads cost?
Also, if anyone has a set of either rotors and/or pads gathering dust, I...

New owner today! 4quick questions by
WendyC88
Bought a 2006 "Tourinng" with 10,000 miles, picked up today. Playing with it
in the driveway, came across a couple of things I hope you might be able to
answer.
1. The second key remote works intermittenlty. Do the batteries go dead
and can they be replaced easily?
2. The two rear speakers...

Radio Removal - 2006 by
WendyC88
Anyone point me to a "how to" on taking out the radio on a 2006? We are not
necissarily swapping out the stock radio, I need to get to the back to do
either an audiolink or wired fm transmitter for an ipd connection. Thank
you.
I guess while I'm at at, any experience on the audiolink or wired...

2008 Miata - slipping out of 4th gear? by

I have a brand spanking new 2008 Miata (only 90 miles on it when I got
it last week!) with a 6 speed transmission. I have 600 miles on it
now and noticed something strange and I don't know if it's me or the
car. I generally shift around 2500-3000 rpm for faster acceleration
and don't rev the...

Quick answer needed if poss by
WendyC88
Sorry and thanks. I have my eye on two Miata's to purchase mode and I have
a nagging question about ownership that I have seen on more than two of
these.
I run a carfax report on any car I might be seriously interested in. I have
noticed a trend with the Miata's where I see them only owned...

Replace Tail Light on 2000 Miata? by
Tom[_26_]
My friend has a 2000 Miata with a damaged left rear tail light. Is it
difficult to remove the old light assembly and replace it w/ the new one?
I haven't had the opprotunity to look inside the trunk to see how the
assembly is attached to the body.
Are instructions available on line?
Thanks,
Tom

The dreaded oil/tire thread! by

Which oil is best? Should I use Super Sewer Sludge 90w-250 Synthetic?
Never mind, I don't have the heart to start an oil thread....

I'm still debating new tires because it upsets my natural cheapness.
