2000 LS electric locks by TR
I purchased a 2000 SL used that didn't have a manual in it. I have a question concerning the locks-electric. They used to open automatically when we stopped the car and shut automatically when we started driving. Now they don't. Is there a switch that causes this?

Broken Defogger...? by Cronan07
I recently replaced my battery in my 96 saturn SL1. Now that i put the new battery in however, the rear defogger/defroster and the seatbelt reminder light dont work. Im not sure if its a fuse or another problem. Anyone have any suggestions, or maybe have had the same problem and know how to fix it?

Clearcoat failure on rain gutters by ron barrett
I have a 98 Saturn SW2 with the clearcoat peeling from the rain gutter above the doors. This car is parked outside year round in Southern California. A local body shop quoted $500 to refinish these rain gutters. That's a little more than I would like to pay for a car that old. Is there a lower...

Possible PCM failure by [email protected]
Recently my 94 SL2 automatic with ABS has been unable to start. The problem appeared once, went away, and then reappeared for good a few days later. The problem is that the car will turn over and immediately die. The engine appears to fire for a few revs, and the tach deflects, but will not...

Saturn Aura by fish
The car looks different. It appears to be a 4 door, dark tint sedan. The license plate seems to have been moved from the back of the trunk to below the trunk, in the bumper. I hate that! I'd rather have my license plate on the trunk so I can see it more clearly. The gas cap is on the passenger...

Rough Idle, pinging, low power by seth
Hello, please help as I am running out of ideas. My wife drives a 99 SL1 with 72,000k on it. Within the last 6 months it has started to loose it's power and is running rough at idle and throughout the speed range. It also pings when accelerating, but briefly. It will ping for a second or two,...

NPR' s CAR TALK- never mentions NEW car wpidemic flaws. by [email protected]
Wonder why we never hear about epidemic flaws in NEW cars on National Public Radio's CAR TALK. (cartalk.com) The only calls they screen and take on the air have to do with problems of older cars (out of warranty)! Is the show more interested in hiding new car epidemic flaws from the public (to...

shoulder strap retractor by [email protected]
The driver's side (naturally...) shoulder strap retractor has stopped functioning in my 94 SL2, with the strap in the rear position. It tries to move a bit from time to time, but only goes up and down an inch or so before stopping. Before I tear the inside of the car apart to see if I can fix it,...

Clunking noise in wheel when braking by navaidstech
Ok gang, I'm curious what might be causing this one: I don't know how long this has been going on (usually drive with radio on) but lately I've noticed a clunking noise in the left front wheel when I brake. Just now I jacked up the car and checked for tie rod end/control arm/bearing play and there...

Saturn Engineering Marvel by Steve
OK, I give up! Is there any way to get the inner door panel off a '99 SC2 without forcing the entire latch/lock assembly through the cutout in the door? On a "normal" car, you remove the screw that's behind the handle and the cover slips around the handle, but on this car, it looks like it's...

Wiper Assembly Replacement by Steve
Hi, all, A Google search didn't come up with anything too useful, so I'm hoping someone here can help. The passenger-side wiper needs to be replaced on my 1999 SL. I bought an Anco (yeah, I know, I'd be better off with the not-much-more expensive Saturn model but, hey, I'm really, really cheap!...

Intermittent stopping and starting by bjbandu
I have a 2000 Saturn LS2 142000 miles. The car runs well for a while and then it suddenly slows down (the gas pedal is slack and has no response)and comes to a stop. When i try to restart immediately afterwards it does not. When i try to restart after about an hour, it does start, runs well for...
