2005 Honda Civic LX gas mileage by
cinerama
When I picked up my Honda Civic LX that I just bought on 9/7/2005, it
had a full tank of gas. I drove it over 400 miles, did a fill up,
divided the gallons into the miles and it came out to 39 mpg. I thought
this was great, since I had the AC on at various times, did more city
driving than I...

Downshifting Grinding noise by
captainarwen
I have a '99 Civic (manual trans) with 68K miles. When I was driving on a
long trip this weekend, with a lot of stop and go traffic, my car started
to make a loud grinding sound and rattling when I would use the
transmission to slow down the car- either downshifting or taking my foot
off the gas. ...

beep when key in ignition and driver's door open by
Abeness
94 Civic EX. I find it quite annoying that the alert that sounds when
the key is in the ignition and the driver's door is open apparently
can't be turned off easily. There are plenty of times that I want the
door open while listening to the radio, and that infernal beep either
drives me bananas or,...

Timing belt question, 99 Honda Accord DX by
W^3
Hello, I have a 99 Honda Accord DX four door, manual transmission. I
don't drive very much. I bought the car new in Feb. 99, and there are
less than 25,000 miles on it. So that's about 2,500 miles per year on
average. I'm also a point A to B kind of driver - easy on the brakes,
easy on the...

Mystery Nut--Anyone Identify? by
Elle
Can anyone please identify the nut pictured at the following
site?
http://home.earthlink.net/~honda.lioness/id16.html
It's head is 12 mm across. It has some sort of locking
mechanism. It sheared off its stud, presumably due to age
and the vibrations that resulted while I was grinding off
the...

headlight lens by

Honda wants about $100 to polish/restore the headlight lenses on my
2000 Accord. I find kits ranging in price from $10-$40. Are they
all the same? Any recommendations as to which is good/bad? TIA.

99 Accord Check engine light and codes by
Mike Wright
The check engine light came on on our 99 Accord V6 which has an auto trans
and about 101000 miles. Jumperering the DLC connector returned 8 flashes,
all the same duration which means either P1359, 1361 or 1362. These codes
are CKP/TDC sensor disconnection or TDC intermittent or no voltage. ...

I think I've asked this question before; but what exactly are the POWER
DRIVE and WINTER DRIVE switches for in this vehicle. What exactly do they
do in terms of transmission operation?
Also, in my 1995 Passport, the WINTER DRIVE switch works intermittently and
only on very rainy or snowy days,...

Hi,
It's been a long time since I've posted in here and it seems really
dead but I'll give it a shot anyways. This is my first stop and I'll
probably be posting in some online forums still to be found by me but
any input here will not go unnoticed.
So:
Around a month ago I replaced my passenger...
