Alternative to Trichloroethane by
Wan A. Cat
I'm considering installing a fiberglass spoiler to my car, so I read the
manufacturers installation instructions to see if I can do it myself. It
seems feasible, but the instructions left me with one question.
They say to scrub the fiberglass with 1,1,1,trichloroethane to clean off the
"release...

Power steering noise 95 olds cutlass ciera by
ANTHONY DIODATI
We have this 95 olds cutlass ciera in the shop with a Power steering noise,
just like it was low on fluid.
Fluid level is fine though.
We replaced the pump, and same problem.
My manager thought the rebuilt pump might be bad, so we replaced it a 2nd
time. Same noise.
The car steers fine too, just...

Help!
Anyone rebuilt a tranny? A standard tranny? How hard? Is it a matter
of disassemby, check, replace worn out parts and reassemble?
Thank you.

stupid little part... by
Nate Nagel
does ANYONE know where I can get a banjo fitting for the inlet of a
Carter AFB that has an inverted flare (5/16" or 3/8") rather than a 3/8"
hose barb? Trying to neaten up my underhood, but there seem to be only
two options, either to buy the really expensive line from Russell with
AN fittings, or...

Greeting,
My HIGH mileage (220k) '95 Grand Cherokee (4.0L automatic) is
occasionally idling rough and the rpm's will drop to a near stall just
after coming to a stoplight, and sometimes stumble just as I'm taking
off again. All of this is under normal driving conditions, no hard

heater core damage from power flushing by
jackl
I have had two vehicles, a Saab 900turbo, and a Chrysler Cirrus, which
both developed heater core damage within a month of power flushing the
cooling system. Could the two be related? In the latter case, the
Dodge dealer replaced the heater core under warranty and now there is a
very foul smell...

Engine stopped due to radiator leakage by
[email protected]
The engine of my Corolla stopped and fumes were coming from the hood.
The oil temperature was high, but not too high. The car was fixed
because it was the garage's fault for not properly fitting a tube.
My question is: can this cause any permanent damage?

moisture proofing ignition? by
William R. Watt
Any suggestions on moisture proofing an ignition system?
Yesterday it stalled at a light when cold and was missing after it warmed
up. I took it home and wiped down the ignition wires, distributor cap,
and coil. Runs fine now. I had to wipe it down last summer too.
The car sits in the garge most...

2000 Ford Windstar won't move: by
Kenny
Hi a buddy has a 2000 Ford Windstar 3.8L with 75,000 miles on it and
it will not move in any forward gear selected, only reverse. The
automatic transmission fluid appears clean and full, and the
transmission was serviced at the 60,000 mile interval. Any ideas what
could be wrong here?
Thanks,
Bush
