I have a strange tire problem...... I have a 2011 Ford Fiesta, purchased new in late February of 2011. It is the SE Hatchback (not SFE) with Kumho Solus KH25 185/60-15 tires on alloy wheels. For the first 5 months I added air to the tires once (and I did check them regualrly). In late July, out...

Cavalier vent control question by George[_23_]
2004 Cavalier. My vent selector stopped working - air only came out of the dash vents, no defrost, etc. Working from underneath the dash, I found the control cable was kinked, apparently because of a stuck door. At least for now, I was able to free the door, by manually pulling on the cable. So,...

Not countrng trucks and a few old cars, are all hitches hidden? JCWhitney sells trailer hitches by Curt and by Hidden Hitch. Three or four of the reviews of the Hidden Hitch hitches talk about how hidden it is. Aren't all the hitches for passenger cars (that have receivers, no permanent ball)...

The Vanadium Steel Revolution by Richard[_20_]
If any metal could qualify as revolutionary, vanadium steel would be the strongest candidate to fit the description. No steel alloy has had quite the same impact on the industrial sector as this one. vanadium steel alloys are the material of choice for building axles, gears and crankshafts. This...

"Weak" Air Conditioning A Problem if Not Corrected? by KC
The vehicle is a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country. The air conditioning blows cool but not cold (sorry I did not measure the temperature at the vents). It's noticeable when the outside temperature is in the mid 80's or above - you have to be traveling at 60 mph or faster for the air conditioning to...

gas gauge reading by cpliu
I drive a 94 Camry which still works great after 180K miles. I've been record the gas gauge reading trying to know fuel efficiency in the past few years. I'm a little puzzled on how it works and the accuracy of the reading. My observations: I suspect the sensor is in the front part of the tank as...

Sound like a fuel pump? by muzician21
89 Toyota Cressida. Over the last month or so I've experienced an intermittent crank/no start that lasted a minute or so, then the car fired up with a bit of a sputter, would start and run like a clock until the next time maybe a week or two later. Tonight had to have it towed in, simply wouldn't...

1953 Dodge M37 military fuel problem? by klem kedidelhopper
Yesterday I used my truck to run a small errand about 3 miles. I thought that two thirds into the ride I might have heard some very slight back fires but the truck is very loud anyway so it is really hard to tell sometimes when you're driving. The performance didn't seem to falter though. I got to...

Miles-per-Gallon by PolicySpy[_3_]
There's a miles-per-gallon standard of 35 MPG by the year 2020. Then I also see a standard of 35.5 MPG by the year 2016. Next, I see a proposal of 56.5 MPG by the year 2025. Then I see an article that says that 35.5 MPG in the year 2016 is really a fleet average of 27 MPG. And next the article...
