I have a 87 reliant 2.5, It starts o.k. when cold but after 5 mins. it stalls.I wait 5 mins. and it runs fine. I checked all vaccum lines,changed map sensor,fuel filter the pvc valve and air cleaner also new fuel regulator. Could the head gasket need torqing? Also, will head gasket cause this...

The drain that is supposed to allow water in the heater to run out thru the firewall has a plastic plug (Carplug) in it, that was apparently not removed when the vehicle was assembled. I have an 87 reliant 2.5 with a stall problem.I checked all vaccum lines,changed map sensor,fuel filter and fuel regulator. Also replaced cap,rotor, and new wires,themostat and antifreeze. Could the head gasket need tourqing ? The car starts ok cold and runs for 5 mins. then stalls. I wait 5mins....
