Cooant Leak by Justin Collins
Hi, I have a tiny leak in my water pump and was talking to a friend of mine. He said a common remidy of this is to put an egg in with the coolant and as it cooks it'll seep into the holes sealing the leak, at least fairly well. is there any truth to this? any problems either?

$160 for fuel injector cleaning? by [email protected]
My 2000 toyota corolla has 120k and has not had a tune up since 70k. The dealer is recommending a 'fuel injector cleaning' for $160 . Is this worth it? My car does occassionally not respond to the gas pedal when just started.

Bad connection in headlamp electrical connector by [email protected][_1_]
I have a 97 Accord (190K miles). 1/2 the nights my drivers side headlamp goes out. The bulb is fine. It seems to be the connector that clips on the bulb. Jiggling the connector does nothing. However if I remove the connector from the bulb and reconnect, the light works fine again (until...

is it ok to interchange synthetic oils (mobil-1, penzoil platinum) by [email protected]
I know its bad practice to mix synthetic with conventional oil. However, is it ok to interchange different brands of synthetic? For example, one oil change I may want to use Mobil-1, the next Penzoil platinum. Especially when I am on the road often and may be able to find only one, not another at...

I took half a day vacation the other day to spend some money on my car. I bought 4 new tires and had them mounted, etc. Then I went to pepboys to get an oil change. They had so much of a problem getting the oil plug out; they stripped the inside of the oil pan. For the next hour, they left me...

Replacing Ford '80 F250 Ignition Lock Without Key by Nehmo
I'm replacing the ignition lock on a 1980 Ford F250 Pickup. The keys are lost. I have the steering wheel off, and I'm at the point where I'm trying to remove the old lock. The instructions say I need a key, and to turn it to the Run position. I can't do that, of course. So what should I do? Just...

I am about post an ad to sell my old car to a private party. My biggest worry is a scam with a cashiers or personal check. I am certain that most people won't agree to cash ($5000-$6000). What can I do to ensure that I get a legitimate payment for my vehicle.
