Escort Automatic Transmission by
Mike Himelfarb
Hi...
I have a '93 Escort 1.9 with 4 spd O/D automatic transmission. Two days
ago I noticed the O/D didn't kick in when I hit 60 kph (40 mph) as usual.
Temperature was below freezing and, when the tranny heated up the problem
disappeared. I thought, ok, it's old with a ton of mileage on it so...

Collision damage to aluminum hood + headlight assembly shattered by
y_p_w
Had an accident a few days ago. Stupid mistake on my part.
Fortunately, everyone was wearing seat belts, the collision
was at low speed since the other driver braked, and in my
opinion nobody seemed to be seriously hurt. The fire dept
did check us out and transported the other driver...

repairing brake fluid damaged body? by
[email protected]
I am looking at buying a vehicle that was vandalized with brake fluid
all over one side of it. I'm not too concerned about appearance, I'm
thinking about just cleaning it and painting it over with some matching
spray paint. Is there anything I should be worried about? Could the
metal have been...

CO2 emissions test by
Old Wolf
I heard in the news today that California tests vehicle emissions
for CO2. This sounds insane to me. The main reaction in an engine
is petrol + oxygen ==> water + CO2.
So in order to reduce CO2 emissions you must either make your car
less efficient (eg. produce some C instead), or use less...

Can somebody who has a blazer help me verify about that?
Thanks!

it's possible to remove those and install something that lights up the
road more brightly?
Anyone heard of something like this?
Alternately, I could install driving...

Belt Squealing after lights dim by
[email protected]
I have a 97 Chevy Lumina. For some reason, when driving down the road,
for no apparent reason, my lights will dim and the heater slows down.
A 5-10 seconds after that happens, my belt starts squealing loudly.
Sometimes turning off the heater stops it. Sometimes, I have to let
off the gas to stop...
