89 Electra Coil Spring replace and Air lift by rdoc[_2_]
89 Buick Electra Park Avenue again. This car had the air system struts removed long ago and now the back is sagging and struts/mounts are shot and car drags easily on back roads. Called Gabriel and they said to use strut set G56726 to make up for the air strut height change (which the previous...

Have you ever heard of someone cashing in on an antifreeze guarantee? by Doc
I've seen these guarantees on antifreeze bottles, do they ever actually pay out? How often do you have the same antifreeze sit in the car for the duration, never spewing out, never having to be replaced because of repairs etc.

9-speed gearboxes save how much fuel? by [email protected]
8-speed automatics have been around in German cars for a while. Now I hear that 9-speeds will be fitted to many SUVs in order to meet new fuel economy regulations. I saw one claim that they would save 10% fuel over a 5-speed box. The 9-speed has a lower first gear as well as closer ratios. I find...

Spark plug electrode bent (twice) by Williams
2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R, bought used in 2007, with rebuilt engine installed. Daughter owns it, and she lives in another state. About 2 years ago, during interstate driving, the car started missing badly. She pulled off at a rest area, waited a while, then restarted the car. It ran OK until she...

How would you store a mildly used electric fuel pump? by muzician21
Wondering what considerations there would be in storing a used electric fuel pump that likely has a fair number of miles left in it. Suggestions? Thanks.

Sound like a fuel pump? by muzician21
89 Toyota Cressida. About 1.5 years ago replaced the crapped out factory fuel pump with a not-Toyota pump from one of the chain parts houses. Ran fine until about a week ago. Car AC theory question by Ashton Crusher[_2_]
AC condensers (the part that's in front of the radiator) can be purchased in bare aluminum or painted black. The purpose is to transfer heat to the air. It seems to me that for maximum heat transfer the best choice would be the bare aluminum. If it has paint on it it seems like the paint would...

Hub Cap Replacement: Where ? by Bob[_53_]
Hello, Have a 2009 Buick LaCrosse. Came with the standard wheels, which I imagine are termed "Alloy" Just noticed that I lost the center part of one of them. This is the small, somewhat round, center section that covers up the Nuts. Not sure if the right term is "Hub Cap," as it's only the...
