95 SL2 auto blows cruise control fuse by
Greg
My daughter's 95 SL2 auto is blowing the cruise control fuse. I did a test
ride with her after replacing the fuse, and it blew the new fuse about 20
seconds after she engaged the cruise on the highway. It held speed normally
and then popped the fuse. Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting...

murtman
I drive a '96 saturn sl1, 112k miles, just got an oil change. I went
to autozone because my service engine soon light was on. The trouble
code PO706 came up which was "Transmission range sensor circuit
range/performance." The guys at autozone had never seen that before,
and there is little to no...

How to Replace a Horn by
Box134
My 96 SL2 horn started blaring while sitting in the garage in early April.
Saturn had a recall for this many years back in the US, but my dealer in
Canada know nothing about it.
So I bought a new horn thinking I'd at least cheat them out of installing
it. Last night I decided it was time to do the...

Matt
Hello,
I'm about to purchase new tires for my 2000 SL1. I'm looking at
getting GoodYear Regatta 2 tires on all 4. Any thoughts/experience with
these things on Saturns?

"Washboard" feeling during breaking by
HyperCube33 \(Life2Death\)[_28_]
When I break now my car feels like the front end is going over a washboard
dirt road. The harder I break the more the feeling is pronounced. it tends
to feel like its shaking rapidly back and forth quickly between the two
front wheels, though I have no idea what causes this. Before this got...

6 hours to replace a starter - LW300 by
oppie
The Starter was getting a bit intermittent on my '01 LW300. It has 100K
miles on it was worth replacing the entire starter. Carquest had a rebuilt
for $155 (wholesale) with $55 core charge.
The Saturn shop manual did not allude to anything particularly difficult.
What the heck, I replace a...

Yet another cold car problem by
Wurm
Hey all,
'98 SL2 134,000km on it.
I recently got my alternator changed, perhaps two months ago, and when they
did that job they didnt replace my battery. The guy told me that he fully
charged the batt, tested it, and it was still OK. Yesterday morning, after a
night of -25 (celcius) my car just...

Valve cover gasket by
Steve Murad
Have 1997 Saturn and just had the valve cover gasket and spark plug seals
replace. The gasket was aprox $200. Is this correct I'm from the days when a
valve cover gasket cost $7.00 Labor was only $45.00 but a $200+ gasket
sounds way out of line?

Echo Tip...Good Idea? by
Andrew Stone via CarKB.com
I own a '92 Saturn SL2...has anyone with the similar make/model used an echo
tip or have any suggestions/opinions about using them. Personally I like the
semi-big sound that comes out of them.
Any information would be appreciated.

Thermostat in 1993 SL1 by
Gary Compton
I need to remove the thermostat in my 1993 SL1 to flush out mayonnaise-like
gunk caused by a blown head gasket; oil mixed with the coolant. I pulled
the elbow that covers the thermostat, but found that the thermostat is built
into it and held in place by a strong spring that I couldn't get any...

SL2 sticky throttle problem by
David T. Johnson
The throttle accelerator pedal on my '92 Saturn SL2 seemed to be
sticking so that when you stopped at a traffic light, the idle rpm might
be at 2-3K before slowly dropping back down to idle speed after 30 or 40
seconds. The pedal and cable linkage were fine. The 'Service Engine
Soon' light...

Manual Transaxle Fluid ?? by
s0ylgr3n
The Saturn Manual says to use Dextron 3. The only Dextron 3 that I could
find at Walmart was Automatic Transmission Fluid. Can that be used
for a manual transmission?? I could not find anything that said Dextron
3 Manual Transaxle Fluid.
Thanks,

P0340 Cam position sensor by

I went to Autozone to get a SES code from my 98 SL2. The scanner read
P0340 which, is the camshaft position sensor or circuit. However, when
I tried to purchase a sensor, the computer said the car didn't have one.
What should I do when I'm told to replace a sensor my car doesn't
have? Any help...
