Advise about buying a used tank by RubenD
I've been offered a 125G acryclic USED tank with some LR. My question is what signs should I be looking for? I'm afraid of leaks or parasites on the rock. How strong the stand has to be to support such weight? Also, if I get it, metal halides are a must, but, I heard the should be keep inside...

MH lights heating my tank. by KurtG
If it's not one thing, then it's another... I came home this evening and my tanks temp was pushing 86.4. Ouch. I turned off one MH, turned on the AC, and have a fan on the tank. It's starting to cool off, but what now? Chiller? Any other tricks? --Kurt

Caulerpa Prolifera by KurtG
Does anybody know where I can find some of this? I found some on ebay, but it was XXL 15 inch variety which seems too big to me. Does it make good tang food? --Kurt

FW Puffer acclimated to SW doing just fine by Tristan
I had aquired a Green Leopard Spot Puffer a few months back, and after a bit of reading up on it, found out its really a sal****er fish. I set out to acclimate it over a period of time from FW to SW. It has been in 1.025/026 SG water for some time now and does not even compare to what it looked...

Need Recommendations for protein skimmer, powerheads and heater by pm3009
Hello. I've always wanted a salt water tank, and just started research on how to properly set up the tank, live rocks, etc. Very overwhelmed with what's involved, and also the initial startup cost. I figured about $1k, but never thought it would be more like $2k or more without even adding...

Live rock + DSB - how the heck? by Add Homonym
Been running my systems with no mechanical or chemical filtration for some time, relying soley on live rock and sand for bilogocal filtration. It works quite well. My current system keeps nitrogenous waste levels at zero (or close enough that none of my tests detect them) ammonia, nitrite,...

Pest star polyps? by Kelsey Cummings
I've got a serious case of runaway growth over the rock work in my tank with this brown star polyp-ish pest. It has 8 tentacles and encrusts like made by sending out tubes from which the polyps grow. I think the only way to get rid of it is going to be to pull out the infected pieces of rock and...

Pygmy Angels by Kurt Larsen
Just wondering if pygmy angels were reef safe. I have heard differing opinions. Thinking of a flame angel or lemon peel angel. Thanks

Add Substrate to Est.Tank ? by StringerBell
Hi, I already have a 3-4 inch sand bed in my aquarium. I was wondering if I could safely add another inch into the already established tank (6 months). I`m thinking of Arag-alive Fiji Pink.

Sulfer Biological Filter by KurtG
Has anybody tried these? I've been reading up on them and they sound interesting as I have persistently high nitrate levels. --Kurt

Zëbulon, Slut Getting A **** Facial by Finzeo
Posted by Tristan using Hipcrime against his victim. His terror tactics don't work but he doesn't give up. He can't. He's dangerously, homicidally obsessed with the old granny. Looks like all the aquarium groups will go moderated to escape this nincompoop known as Roy Tristan Hauer. From:...

Someone explain reason behind this by RoyTristanHauer
Don't kill yourself. Why is that? What makes this group and it's members immune from your attacks and trolling? You realize you've destroyed the pond, goldfish and misc aquarium groups don't you? What's your motive , for destroying all those other groups. I am not a troll, Finzeo. You...
