Weird AC problem. by
XS11E[_1_]
Yesterday the 1992 Miata got a bath, charged up the battery (I
haven't driven it in awhile, it bothers my knee too much. Time to
sell?) and off I go, top up, AC on, AC seemed to cool for a few
blocks and then started blowing hot air. Got where I was going and
parked for a few hours, going home...

Hard Top OFF! by
Tim M.
Took the hard top off early this week. Drove top-down three times.
Then the BIG rains hit. Hopefully next week will be better.

How many Miatas have you owned? by
Chris D'Agnolo
Hey, last time I thought this group was getting WAY too quiet, I started a
thread on where the participants were / are. I was shocked how many people
were still hanging around and just waiting to comment or read others
comments. It led to a long and enjoyable (at least for me) thread.
This is...

Off-topic / GPS question by
pws[_1_]
A friend gave me a Garmin emap GPS from 1991. It's old but it works.
Anyway, I would like to upgrade to a more modern one, I can actually
still sell this for about $80.00 to help offset the cost.
I would rather have a hand-held unit, and I won't try to program it
while driving.
This would...

Miata Radio by
[email protected]
We have a 1990 Miata that was purchased new. The car has been an
absolute dream to own. It only has 80,000 miles on it and is only
driven by my Wife who treats it like one of the children. The car is
always garaged and has NEVER given us any problems....just routine
maintenance.
Anyway, for some...

What can you say? by
Chris D'Agnolo
Sorry if long.....
I finally got to go do a long anticipated driving trip to Phoenix (from
Houston!) with my 'lil brother (and his RX-8 :). After much research, I
planned a Phoenix / Globe / Safford / Clifton (US 191) / Eager / Show Low /
Globe / Phoenix, round trip.
Those of you who don't...

Charge light? by
XS11E
My "charge" light doesn't come on, I checked the bulb and checked the
diode on the instrument light circuit board (w/o removing the printed
circuit) and all is OK.
I know the alternator is working by the simple test, start car, turn on
headlights, rev up engine. When the engine revs up the lights...

Radio help? by
XS11E
I've been playing around with a radio from a 2000 Protoge, the single
DIN unit AM/FM CD.
I haven't figured out how to make it work yet, I'm not completely sure
it does work correctly?????
I can set the clock, play a CD, listen to AM or FM but I can't set the
push buttons to a station and there's...

rpm vs. speed question by
laocmo
I've recently acquired a 05 MazdaSpeed Turbo, 6-speed, a retirement
gift for myself. Love it so far. It's been 40 years since as a single
guy I drove a '64 Vette 4-speed. My driver for the last 13 years has
been a 6-cyl '93 T-Bird auto transmission. Now the questions. At 60mph
my Mazda is turning...

Question about the Newsgroup by
Expmiata
Hi folks
I use AOL as my ISP (no bashing now LOL). However, I am changing my email
address because I am leaving AOL. Question: How do the rest of you access
rec.autos.makers.mazda.miata? Do you go through a paid subscription of some
kind?
I've searched and searched, but cannot find access <sigh>...

reflections on the 2006 MX-5 by
the invisible man
Having spent 2 days with the 2006 MX-5 (no longer Miata) some thoughts:
It is bigger inside, especially in the area of head room. And the
steering wheel can be dropped for shorter drivers. The seat bottoms have
bolsters that make the seat feel narrower. Storage is a little worse.
There are some...

Folding hard top Miata impressions... by
pltrgyst[_1_]
Earlier today, I test drove a nice new Mica Red Metallic Miata with the folding
hard top (the car that was on display recently at the Washington DC Auto Show)
with the top both up and down.
The hard top is impressive, and leaves decent trunk space -- about the same
size, but looks a bit deeper...

radiator by
Scott Hughes
My radiator isn't gonna last too much longer. It's the original 12yr old
radiator, and it's got little cracks in the top, plastic area. Anyone have
advice on a reasonably priced replacement?
It looks like you can get a generic for under $150, OEM for $175-$200, or
metal, dual-cores for...

Hi, I am thinking of buying the latest model Miata. I have read a
bunch of reviews and have not heard one negative thing. Before seeing
a dealer I have a few questions:
1) is it a great car? :) I plan on getting the higher trim with 6
speed, I will drive it alot, but pretty much get split...

99 Miata Blown Engine - HELP! by
Miataman
I've got a 99 Miata Base model, white with a 60 day old new tan top
(Glass window, not plastic). Leather, the works, 78k miles. I was
driving along doing a happy 80 on the highway here in Florida when I
heard a minor explosion under the hood and saw smoke. Long story short,
it was towed to the body...
