Make your own flexplate? by
[email protected]
I own a 1984 Dodge Caravan, 2.6 L Mitsubishi. I have replaced the motor
many times but never the transmission. Recently the flexplate broke
around the crank bolt holes and then 2 - 4 years later, my spare
flexplate broke. I assume this part has a twenty year life and it is to
be expected. My...

ATF+3 mix with ATF+4 OK? by
harry
With the Google search, I just recently knew that Chrysler discontinued the
ATF+3 oil. That means, dealers started putting ATF+4 into vans originally
designed with ATF+3 from certain point.
Is it OK to mix them? I assume the answer should be OK. Otherwise,
Chrysler would have caused so much...

Dodge straus 2.4 strange O2S reading (I think) by
dotsdave
I am having some problems with passing emission test and the only odd
thing I see while viewing the OBDII data on a laptop is that the
downstream O2 sensor seems to be seeing a rich condition (slow
switching between .57 to about .86) while the upstream O2 sensor is
giving me a nice fast switching...

running lights permanently on. The only way to get them to turn off is to
take off the 50amp fuse under the hood OR to disconnect the battery?
Is this a switch problem? Or another fuse? And where the heck is it??
Anyone?

LHS Cooling system fans by
Hank NB
Hiya Folks,
Here's a puzzler for you. The culprit: 1997 LHS 3.5 Liter. When idling,
the temperature climbs higher than normal. Checked fans and they don't
start until higher temp reached then run until engine cools some but not to
normal level. (They cut out early.)
Problem comes and goes...

Start/Ignition issue after replacing steering column by
[email protected]
Hello all, hope someone can help me out here.
I picked up an 87 LeBaron Convertible (2.2Turbo), automatic, that had a
bad tilt steering column, but did run.
I replaced the steering column with one which apparently came from a
non-EFI vehicle. There were a couple of additional connectors on...

93' Sundance 2.2 front main seal (???) by
D. Reid
I have a 93'Ply Sundance 2.2 that keeps blowing the front main seal out. I
mean LITERALLY! It blows the seal clean out of its seat!
There is just a little blow by out the oil filler hole but isnt the PCV
(good) and the CCV return line suppose to vent this sufficiently?
It has twice blown the seal...

Replacing cylinder head on 2000 T&C 3.8 by
Wally B
I have a cracked head to replace. I didn't see in the FSM or Alldata
anything about lubricating the new head bolts, but most engine rebuilder
sites offer three pieces of advice:
1. follow the manufacturers guidance regarding lubing the bolts
2. lightly lub (don't dip) the head bolts with 30w

Hi...
Hope I can ask another question without causing dissension again...
Vehicle is 94 LHS, in every respect like new with the exception of
no drl's. Mr Stern suggested a nice replacement, but I procrastinated
like us old folks do, and they're still not fixed.
However, next door neighbor...

OT - 1999 300M screaching after turn off engine by
Art
Sometimes after I turn off engine there is a final screach from under the
hood. No it is not my neighbor's cat. Would not do it for the dealer. I
am thinking it is AC related but so far it is random and infrequent. Any
ideas?
