Should I fix my Lude? by
disallow
Hey all,
I know that many people post asking if they
should fix their old cars. I'll be naive and
say I think my situation is special... :)
1987 Prelude S (Dual Carburated) Manual Trans,
no air, no power steering. 217000kms, runs
good, gets about 10kms/Litre = 24 MPG (US Gallons)(could be a...

Transmission Flush: Dealer or Jiffy Lube?? by
warlock162
In my 98 Honda Civic of 168,000 miles, the last time I changed the fluid
was around 118,000.
Is is appropriate to go to the dealer, or for cost-effective reasons, can
I use the Jiffy Lube-type of place?

10 Year old Radiator by
Julien Antkies
What is your opinion of this?
I recently heard on Motorwatch radio that a 10 year old radiator should
be replaced. I have 1 1997 Honda Civic with 140,000 miles. The coolant
was changed every 2 years with factory fill. I have also been using
wetter water for the past three years. I am not having...

Buying a 2007 Civic LX tips? by
Brian Beuchaw
Hello all,
My 94 Saturn SC1's life has been nice, but it's time for a new car and I'm
leaning towards a 2007 Civic LX coupe. I was going to get a DX, but
would've had to add a CD player, and since more nice stuff comes with the
LX for not much more than the CD player would've cost, I figure...

First new car in years - what will they try to sell me? by
Samson
I'm intending to use Costco to buy a Civic Hybrid. The salesman says
that the price is going to be the Invoice price ($20,789) plus
Destination and tax and license. My recollection from buying a car
years ago is that there were a bunch of last minute decisions about
extended warrantees and...

Tegger's 'Teg needs a cat... by
Tegger
....because the original has a rust hole in it, which has rendered it noisy.
New Honda OEM cats are $1,100, and are discontinued for my car, to boot. I
am therefore reduced to trolling the aftermarket, for which I have a
healthy distrust.
Enquiries at local garages turn up several brands. Good...

Brake Fluid for Cleaning Bolts? by
Elle
Any reason not to soak old bolts in used brake fluid, wipe
them with a rag, apply, say, anti-seize, then re-install?
My concern would be the water absorbing properties of brake
fluid. But if others routinely do this, then I won't be
concerned.
TIA

Question Platium Spark Plugs by

I visited the Honda Parts Department and asked the person behind the
counter to give me the price of Platium Spark Plugs that would fit in my

number of the plugs that I needed:
PZFR5F-11
He told me that the price per plug was...

Transmission service on 2000 Accord by
bob
2000 Accord, EX, V6, 49,000miles........
To service the automatic transmission (drain and refill fluid and
filter(?) ), is it best to drop the transmission pan, or just remove
drain plugs?
Is there a filter that should be changed that can be accessed by
dropping the pan?

Annoying intermittant power loss by
Matt Ion
Okay, this is really starting to bug me... this is the third '87 Accord
in a row now that's had this problem (all carbed, first had A/C and P/S,
second P/S and non-working A/C, latest has neither.
My first one was running great, really peppy, until I had a "fuel system
service" done, and after...

Should I let dealer swap bumpers on new Accord? by
Patrick Maloney
I'm looking at a 2006 Accord Sedan SE which is Royal Blue Pearl. I love
the car. It drives great.
But, the rear bumper is scratch on the right rear. They tried to buff it
out and, of course it's no suprise that, they actually made it worse. The
scratches are mostly gone, but paint is now...

Accord 05 VP Poor Gas Mileage by
[email protected]
I bought an Accord '05 Value Package (AT, 5 Speed) in August last year.
Since then I've been trying to measure my gas mileage. The sticker on
the car showed the EPA estimate as 24(city)/34(hwy) mpg. Now, I've been
driving mostly on highways since. I would split it as 70% hwy, 30%
city. Yet, I've...

95 Civic LX Intake Air Temperature Sensor by
[email protected]
Hi...
Can any one please tell me whether a bad Intake Air Temperature Sensor
(IAT) or a bad TW (Coolant Temperature sensor, or Water Temperature
Sensor) will cause the engine not to fire up?
I've read that these two sensors can affect injector pulse width? It
seems that I'm getting too much fuel...

Accord transmission problems - best approach? by
Dave Garrett
Well, it finally happened. A couple of days ago, the CEL came on in my
wife's 98 Accord V6. She also reported that she thought the car wasn't
shifting normally. I drove it and couldn't be sure, but I thought it was
not shifting as decisively as it normally does. Fearing the worst, I had
her...
