How to Tow RWD MT Car with Car Dolly ? by
loadhawg
Assuming a 350 mi 1-way trip...
I've always heard that the way to tow a car (with a car dolly) was to
disconnect the driveshaft at the rear axle. Given a solid rear axle and
a manual transmission (5speed) in a traditional front engine, RWD
arrangement...
Should the driveshaft be disconnected? Or...

Ford 3.0L Pushrod Valve Stems-updated by
[email protected]
I probably should have enlightened a bit better from my last post. I am
replacing a head gasket, and I do have the heads off. I am not going to
have them machined as they are not warpped. I am very experienced with
engines/auto mechanics. However, I always work on foreign cars, this is
my first job...

Which oil filters are best? by
J J
I have not found any independent tests regarding screw on oil filters.
Just from word of mouth I have heard that the NAPA gold or silver, and
the $5 Purolator are the best.
Any thoughts or independent tests on internet you can refer me to?

Eibach ProKit vs H&R Sport Springs by
[email protected]
I've decided to get some lowering springs for my Grand Am, but I was
wondering if any of you had any opinions to which one has a better
ride? Both seem like a good choice, but I'm not sure as to which one is
better quality, ride, etc. Any ideas?

2000 Astro van heater problem by
jim
My heater heats and the ac cools but the dampers don't work. I get air
out the floor outlets and the defrost outlets together but never out
the dash vents. Switching to different output positions on the heater
switch doesn't seem to have any affect.
Anyone got a clue?

Ford Focus Clutch noise... by
[email protected]
On my 2001 Ford Focus Diesel.
When I depress the clutch, the engine noise becomes very high.
Clutch not depressed, no noise heard at all - virtually.
Ford anomaly? To be expected? or is a fix called for?

I Have this Sprint and I can't get it to lean out the mixer control
selenoid unless I ground the blue wire with red stripe which the
computer is supposed to ground. At first the selenoid wasn't working so
I installed another one that does work. I watch a volt meter connected

86 Corolla used engine??? by
DoctorLes
Hi,
I am the type that likes to fix rather than ditch broken stuff.
I have an '86 Corolla 5sp, with a bad 1st Cylinder. I'd like to maybe
get a used engine for it but I've found them hard to come by, or very
expensive. I'm wondering what luck I should expect for finding a used
engine somewhere...

My Ram pick-up recently lost total power on a trip down the interstate
with a red light on the dash board flashing away. I looked up the
light in the book provided and found it to be the electronic throttle
control. 'what I am wondering is if anyone has encountered this
before, can I fix it...

oval track spring question by
ray
I know there's a couple of racers on here, maybe you can help me
understand why all the books and all the experts recommend a stiffer LR
spring over the RR? They say do it, but never say why.
I always see stuff like:
LF: 1100 RF: 1300
LR: 200 RR: 175
The car is a Camaro on dirt btw (rear...
