Burned fuse or something else by
beth_r
I'm kind of beating myself senseless for this stupidity but it wasn't
entirely my fault. Yesterday morning my car wouldn't start, so after work my
friend took me to go get new jumper cables, we ended up having to switch
parking spots due to the local of our batteries on our cars. I was...

Bras, For Your Car by

Bras For Your Car
Whoever coined the term, car bra, must have done so to attract a lot of
attention. Apparently, they have succeeded. Cars, trucks, SUVs, and
vans are all sporting bras and they are a very attractive site. Let's
take a closer look at car bras and what they are all about.
Not all...

Car breaks down everytime I get too one certain town!! by
[email protected]
I drive a Chevy Malibu and it has been to the mechanics many times
this month. I thought I got some bad fuel or something but now after
thinking, I have only broken down in one certain area. Everytime I
get to this town my car shuts off. It starts as soon as I turn it
back on but it only turns...

I know nothing about engine oil and this will probably prove it....
My dad moved out of this house about 10 years ago.. He had, or should
I say, I have a tool shed in the back yard.. I am in the process of
cleaning it out and found a couple of containers of oil...
So they are at least...

Fixing P0113 Intake air sensor high voltage by
TheClassic
I have a P0113 that I am trying to fix. I replaced the sensor first
since it was easy and cheap. The sensor looked fine and unfortunately
the check engine light hasn't cleared after 2 weeks (which should be
ample time). I replaced the air filter shortly before the problem
started, so I wouldn't be...

Whats the fastest accel car I can get for 50K? by
Dean
What's the fastest vehicle I can get for $50,000? It doesn't have to
be brand new, but I'd like it to be less than 3 years old and still
with some warrantee.
I was considering a corvette Z6 which does 0-60 in 4.2 secs, a used
one I could get for much less than that price. But what I want...

700R4 Ambient Temp Issue w/ holding 4th (OD) - Why? by
loadhawg
I've got an '84 Pontiac Firebird (130K) w/ a 700R4 overdrive automatic.
I noticed this once or twice last year and again the other day when it
dipped to about 30F locally. The transmission wouldn't hold or maintain
4th (OD). Basically I could be driving along on flat expressway with
only the...

Do Seatbelts Wear Out with Age? by
Buck Turgidson
I have a 86 Toyota Corolla SR5. I am curious if the seatbelts should be
tested by a pro to ensure that they're still functional - so I don't have to
find out the hard way if they still work?
I am wondering if, over time, seatbelts decline, mechanisms get sticky, or
something of that nature.

Zenith Stromberg Help by
[email protected]
My rover SD1 V8 has twin zenith strombergs on it. Unfortunately I'm
not familiar with them and need some advice. One morning the right
hand carb started spouting petrol even before i had started the engine
(so it was from the pressure of the petrol pump). It was coming from a
tube which has...

1970's Range Rover Petrol Pump Cutting Out by
Neil Brownlee
The facet has a filter in the bottom. It can "stick" and cause the issue you
are having. I had this with a new pump :(
When you turn off the ignition, the filter drops...and fuel will flow again.
As far as I recall it unscrews. Check it and make sure it can rise and fall
smoothly....also make...

Autozone- illegal bait & switch advertising? by
j
I went to the Autozone website and found a power steering pressure hose for
a 1977 Ford F-250 with a 351 engine for $16.99. When I went to the store to
purchase it, they had a different brand in their computer for $19.99. Their
computer did not show the less expensive brand. They told me that it...

WARNING: DO NOT GO TO CARX CAR X
I took my girlfriend's car to car x for brake service. They quoted me
$120 estimate over the phone.
I figured it might be a little more, maybe in the neighborhood of $200
or so. I know car x is expensive. After waiting for about 15 minutes
the mechanic came and...

avoiding cold starts by
mac
First, are these assumptions correct?
(1) Starting a car when the engine is cold puts alot more stress on it
than when it's already warm.
(2) And the colder it is, the more stress.
Because i've always assumed the above, I do the following, but I want
to verify whether it's really worth it and...

Bandless automatic transmissions? by
Tegger
I know Honda and Toyota have used bandless automatics for at least 20
years, and Chrysler's A604 was also bandless.
Any other bandless automatics out there?
